I think that's somewhat a matter of opinion, many of our Presidents have been extremely intelligent and very insightful. But the microscope under which they live their lives (both in office and after their term of service is done) rarely allows them to be seen in that light. If everyone is picking apart everything they are doing and saying at a microscopic level without them being allowed to defend themselves (even after they've left office), sure, some of them are going to come across that way to some people.

And then there are those who definitely qualify as dumb, clueless, airheaded & out of touch. I'm not denying there's been some of those, too.

But the posibility of Trump getting involved is something completely different, even if you believe he fits those descriptions. What scares me about Trump is that he should excel at bringing in the "blind vote", or lets call it the reality TV vote. Its very likely that a lot of people may vote for the guy just because he's Donald Trump. Or because they "think" he's been good at business (which has not always been the case), so maybe he could fix some of our problems. Some may vote for him because they like his TV show. Or because of his hair. Or because its easier to know ANYTHING about "The Donald" than it is a real politician.

Now, I realize its very unlikely that he'll get the nomination and even more unlikely that he would win a presidential election. But the fact that he's popular in the polls right now is kind of freaking me out. The idea that Donald Trump COULD end up in office, running the entire country the way he does the boardroom on Apprentice frightens me to the core of my being. It really does. Because I believe with all my heart that very, VERY bad things would take place if that were to happen.
