"Ya, you're the loser driving around with expired tags and I'm the cop about to give you a ticket and impound your car because of that...are we clear now?"

It's always funny to me when people pull out the "I have so much more money than you" card. Like, who the fuck cares what you have? You think the cop was upset by that comment? lol

Those comments is certain cities = a beatdown.

Co sign.

you're taking this all too seriously. can you really hold a serious conversation about a has been basketball player? does that subject matter really seem important?

rolleyes Ain't nobody taking anything serious at all. I'm simply commenting on a pattern of threadjacking that is annoying to me and detracts/distracts from threads IMO. Last I checked, I could still state my opinion. And my comment is not really about THIS thread, it applies to EVERY thread either of you post on. So it's a constant distraction for myself and everybody else who's not IN on your joke, whatever that may be.

shrug Maybe not, but I don't divert almost every thread I'm on by engaging in insider banter that has nothing to do with the OP. Like I said, I saw it, yet again, and felt like commenting on it. And judging from the org notes I'm getting, I'm not the only one who's noticed this cliquey threadjacking.

But hey, knock yourselves out. I'll keep ignoring threads where this shit jumps off. I'm chillin' poolside in Vegas and am happy to let ya'll do your thing in Orgland. thumbs up!

fine. what a bust he was for the knicks. and his 18$ sneakers.

Err... I'm sure that's supposed to be some kind of a joke that I'm just not getting... but that was Stephon Marbury, not Allen Iverson.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I always, always, ALWAYS use my turn signal to change lains or make a turn and it annoys the hell out of me when other people don't. I wish those laws were enforced more often. And don't buy a car that cost that much if you don't want to pay for the tags.

Still, I'm not sure what any of this has to do with anybody being "washed up". This story could be about anybody, it just happens to be about Allen Iverson. Its not like he's the first person (or the 1000th) to have reportedly asked a cop if they knew who they were.

This happened to me once.

I was working at a movie theater and for one busy premiere people had to line up outside rather than come inside before the movie, and this ex-basketball player asked me "do you know who I am?"

but he was kidding and went outside smile

Singer Sean Levert (may he R.I.P.) used to come into the record store I worked at in high school. Coworkers would give him free product all the time, which I could never understand, particularly because he'd always dress in a way that communicated how filthy rich he supposedly was. rolleyes

He walked up on me once while I was staffing the checkout, dropped a bunch of cassettes in front of me and stood there silently, never once even looking at me, as if to say, "You know what to do, son." confused

I think he was honestly taken aback when I rang up the cassettes on the register and stood there silently, as if to say, "You know what to do."

He cracked a bit of a smile, but paid for his stuff and left.

And it's not just you guys I've noticed that a lot of cliques around here engage in this type of jacking so I typically just avoid their threads cuz I already know how that's gonna go down. shrug

This is the reason why I don't post here as I used to, this board is getting extra lame.

confused Just say whatever the hell you want and get on with your life. If somebody responds to what you've got to say, great. If they don't, who cares? That's generally how internet forums have worked since the beginning, other than the very few that have had full time moderators whose job it is to keep threads on topic. But there is nothing that anybody else says that should be stopping you from posting whatever you want. If you aren't posting its 100% your choice. Its not because of thread-jackers, thread content, being on or off topic, cliques or whatever other reason you've made up in your head. Its just YOU chosing not to post.

I didn't say you were anything. It was a general comment relating to the line of conversation within this thread about thread-jacking. However, I find it odd that anybody needs to post anything about why they wouldn't post. Just don't. shrug

as a person who rides a bicycle, it would be nice to know which way someone is going... i have been hit by cars because a car suddenly decided to make a turn without signaling as i was going straight.

it's funny though, because i thought it was just where I lived where people didn't signal! i guess it's everywhere?

Oh but excuse me, I will if I feel like saying it. If randomness get thrown in here generously like magic tricks, my little ol' post shouldn't be considered "odd.

I said I don't post as I used to, I didn't say I "don't" period, which means I'm only sticking around in lurk mode for the small crowd that wouldn't be found posting in non-prince music board shrug

Cool beans, peace pops and highfive It wasn't an attack, just my opinion.

And just like a majority of the threads here at the org, this conversation has NOTHING to do with the OP topics. biggrin
