It depends on what part of both countries you are from. There are just as many accents in Canada as there are in the US.

Most of the ppl are surprised when I tell them that I am American. They usually say that I am too quiet and do not have an obnoxious accent.

It's not even true. Canadians don't end every sentence with "eh". We only end with "eh" when it's a question that we expect the person we are asking will agree with in response.
