Why is it ok for a women to be sexist?

Also, on tv it's the women who always comes to the rescure of her knucklehead husband who's always messing things up, getting into trouble.

Case in point: Wife and I recently hosted a "game night" at our house and the guests (mostly female) got to the point where they were telling my wife "we feel so sorry for you" and "your married to this guy?"..."how do you do it"? My crime? Just thought it would be fair to redo a turn in a game because I erroneously read from the blue side of the cards instead of the red side? Why do I feel that if it was my wife who read from the wrong side, she would have been granted a "do over"?

Why the double standard? And does anybody else notice this in society?

Old women at church hit on me or even squeeze my arm suggestively but because they're old ladies and harmless, nobody sees it as wrong.

But if some old dude tried to touch my sister, he'd be former deacon Frye in no time.

Because those that are think it's cute, corrective, small or altogether nonexistent.

But FYI: it's really tough to take you seriously given your avatar. lol If THAT portrayal isn't the epitome of a loser male -- who begs to be treated as such -- I don't know what is.

Yes there is a double standard. A lot of women do this and it is a negative, destructive, and passive aggressive. The sad thing is that most of the people doing it aren't even aware of it. But, on the plus side they could be yanking your chain.

I have noticed (to my surprise) that women tend to be more sexiest than men. Not to say men aren't sexiest. The women that are sexiest have a small outlook on what is considered manly or what men can do well. *There can be 2 ways of doing a task, each way ending in the same result. But the women (that are passive aggressive) will prefer 1 way and if the men choose a different way he is somehow wrong. Not only wrong, but should be told and proven wrong. And the women can even get angry at the men for doing it the wrong way.

(*Men do this too)

It's kind of hard to discuss such a complex issue with out sounding sexiest.

Yeah your right, they were probably just yanking my chain, but it did get me thinking that its accepted in our society for women to do this and nobody has a problem with it. It's actually encouraged. This can't be a positive thing in our society.

That's part of the plan and the problem. I'm not playing by those rules. Some people need to stop being so sensitive and get over their limitations. We are NOT all equal.

I'm going out on a limb here, but my personal thought on this is that;

Women are traditionally the "weaker sex" and have no real power over men. Yes, I realize this is one big ball of stereotypical momb-jumbo, but basically that's the prevailing mindset of most societies.

So, for a woman to be "sexist" against a man is seen as harmless because they lack real power. Whereas a man has all the cards in his favor and is more capable of shrugging it off.

That's just my 2¢

I see what you mean. Similar arguments are made about race.

However.

Women get to have it both ways. Be independent and make their own way, but many would still love for a man with the means to support them both to make her not have to be independent.

So many times, I've had conversations with girls and I go "You like so and so? That dude is fucking gross."

Only to hear "But he got money..."

Meanwhile, it sounds trifling and pathetic for a man to say, "yeah, I know there's nothing attractive about Rosie O'Donell, but she got money..."

Men bust each other's balls pretty much from birth. I think there's an assumption that men are used to it more than women.

Why isn't this thread in P&R? We're essentially talking about a form of gender discrimination. Sexism (ism) is one of those social ills that also has political ramificatins.
