DO MEN DESERVE CREDIT FOR.....

taking care of their kids e.g. emotionally & financially. You know....credit for being involved fathers, attending school functions, attending games, helping the child with homework, handling yucky chores like diaper changing and cleaning up vomit/snotty noses, and taking the kid to and from school.

Or is that just the shit they ought to do? I heard a radio commentator saying that there's not enough credit given to fathers and that most family ads show women as the primary caregiver. confuse

Discuss...

Everytime someone clean a shitty diaper and wipes a baby's shitty ass or has to handle a screamin child that person should get a gold star (like we got in elementary school) to wear on their shirt for the rest of the day.

Both deserve credit.

No, they don't but it's such a rarity and that's why it's celebrated so much.

that's stuff any parent/guardian should do...

but, considering the sad state of parenthood in this country (US), I'd say, yeah, give a gold star or whatever to those who actually parent well.. knowing, and willingly performing, their responsibilities.

In Valerie Solanos's S.C.U.M. (Society for Cutting Up Men) manifesto, she states: "the male chromosome is an incomplete female chromosome. In other words the male is a walking abortion; aborted at the gene stage. To be male is to be deficient, emotionally limited; maleness is a deficient disease and males are emotional cripples." Solanos spent 3 years in jail after she shot Andy Warhol 3 times in 1968. She died in 1988. Andy went on to fool the world.

Naaaah, it's just one of those giant can of worms sort of topics. Like, why are women allowed to publically question these issues as if it's no different than asking about the weather, but if men do the same they're "women haters", "ignorant to how these things really work", or some other such nonsense. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I started to write a dang essay. lol I'm gonna pass on that right now as a general peace appears to have settled back over the org.

The only thing I give most men credit for is a good time for about 20 minutes. If they didn't have that dick between their legs, I'd probably be straight. lol

this is true, but if a person raises good kids and sacrifices for them, they may deserve praise from their own children (if not the rest of the world) since so few actually do what they're supposed to.

Not enough people get praise for doing what they are supposed to do (not just talking parents, now). They seem to get ignored in favor of holding the hands of those who fail at every turn.
