Wireless speakers and/or iPod docking stations

I've been downsizing lately and I decided it was time to get rid of my old, clunky stereo. I most often listen to music on my computer or on my iPod. But for occasions where I have people over, I'd love to have an option of playing some music in my living room, so I'm thinking of getting a docking station, or else just getting some wireless speakers that would go through my computer.

My days of cranking the speakers up to 11 are long gone and I have a pretty small living room, so I don't need anything huge. I've looked at Bose and that's kind of a leading contender right now, but maybe I just need a cheap system since the speakers don't need to fill up all that much space.

I'd love to hear if any orgers have found some solutions that they really love and recommend.

I have a docking station. Love it!

Best Buy has this portable case which opens up and is speakers'docking station and I might get that.

I have two docking units for my iPods. One is the DLO HomeDock Deluxe and it features an on-screen navigation interface that also shows your iTunes album art. It connects to your TV and receiver and plays through existing speakers. It also plays video from your iPod. My model uses s-Video and RCA jacks, but they have a model with HDMI connectors.

The other one I have is a Philips SJM3151. It's a lot like the DLO unit, but the remote is Bluetooth so it can be used anywhere in the house. It doesn't use an on-screen interface, but the remote has an LCD screen and it will also play video via S-Video.

Both charge the iPods and work wonderfully.

B&W makes a stand-alone dock that has to be heard to be believed. It's called the Zeppelin. Compare the Bose against it and you'll probably shit your ears out of your dick.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Thanks! The mini Zeppelin is the same price as the small Bose docking station, so if I end up going the pricey route, I think I'll go with that.
