seems lame. the trailer gave me a very "the exorcism of emily rose" type of vibe. i hated that fucking movie-the emily rose on that is. i hope you enjoy thought. satan is not scary--or is it pazuzu?

falloff

I'm sorry. sad

but it is funny. I like to mess with my son sometimes too.

The other day I told him that I was not his real mother, that he was adopted. He was like, "Are you serious? Don't joke mom".

I told him a few minutes later that I was kidding and just wanted to see how he react. WELL, Today he came up to me and said, "You know mom, I'm not your real son". I pretended to be shocked and he laughed and said he was kidding and just wanted to see how I would react.

We're not your typical family I guess. lol

My mom did that too. lol mushy

She said she found me. mad

Also I was a jealous kid redface and she sponsored one of those CARE or Sally Struthers kids (can't remember which or what the foundation) and she would tell me she was gonna bring him to live with us just to get me all riled up.

I also recently told my son that I was taking him to the human society to trade him in for a cute puppy.

Your mom sounds awesome.

Thinking about it this morning, it's kinda appropriate we got into the whole mom (and mom antics) on this thread. It's because of her that I have such a love for horror films (seeing Halloween at the movies at 6yrs old was just the start). Seeing this movie on opening night reminds me of taking her to the last horror film she saw at the movies. It was The Blair Witch Project and we lived up in the boonies in Northeast PA. The movie theater wasn't even wheelchair accessible (she was in one at that point) and we said "fuck it, we're seeing this anyway". Ron picked up one end and I the other and we carried that bitch (like Cleopatra on one of those chaise with handles thingies) up 2 levels of stairs to the screening room. doh! Her majesty was like this popcorn the whole ride up. lol

Exorcism movies scare the shit out of me.

Still, I'm looking forward to seeing it, although I read a review that makes me worry it won't be so good.

I read a review on the Washington Post last night that said it was good. 4 out of 5 stars. Mentioned they wished there was "more" to the ending. I decided I don't want to read too much. Got the tix already, it's gonna either be good or not. lol

Yeah, I don't like to read too much about movies before I see them. Ruins things for me. But the review I read mentioned the ending too. But I'm hoping it's good.

Actually, while I'm hoping for things, I wish I had someone sexy and cuddly to watch it with, because that's the best way to roll with a horror movie. But that's neither here nor there.

I dunno why, but when Eli Roth is somehow attached to a project, I automatically am set against it. There's just something about him I don't like. shrug

Yeah, that scene where her friend spends the night in her dorm room and then wakes up in the middle of the night to find her all twisted up on the floor...scenes like that totally freak me out.

Well, what's the point of watching those movies if you don't get the chills from them?

I LOVE exorcist movies.

Well....maybe that's a generalisation. I love BOTH the exorcism movies I have seen - "The Exorcist" and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose".

This movie looks awesome. Can't wait to see it.

I liked the premise, but it didn't scare me at all and the end was totally LAME (again, for me). neutral

I'm a tough customer when it comes to horror I guess. sigh

Paranormal Activity (not one of my faves but ok and kind of well executed as well as in that "found footage" genre) was creepier than this movie IMO, if that says anything. shrug

The lead guy is kinda cute and did a good job. The girl he's performing the exorcism on was kinda good and the redhead boy playing her brother was also good. The audience screamed and gasped a few times and I looked around goin "WHAT???" boxed

You are indeed a tough customer with horror films based on what you've said here and on the Let The Right One In thread. And btw, I thought Paranormal Activity was very scary. I really liked that movie.

I'm now curious to know what was the most recent horror film that you thought was genuinely scary? Anything released in the last few years?

for the most part the flim was fun, some edge of your seat moments but far away from the brilliance of the THE EXORCIST. The ending was raw but thrown together. Why on earth didnt they just LEAVE and NEVER COME BACK?!
