I love this movie: I AM LOVE (Io sono l'amore) (2010) [img:$uid]http://www.nickelodeon.org/photos/i_am_love.jpg[/img:$uid]
Tilda Swinton is a Russian wife in a wealthy Italian family, going through the motions of marraige until she is awakened and seduced through her son's friend's cooking. Lush. Sensual. GORGEOUS. Five stars.

Knowing your tastes, I'd think you'd love it as well.
The classical score is a very important part of the film's appeal too. I'll be picking up the soundtrack soon.

Def an important note to self, thanx!
I've never been disappointed with your selections of movies or TV shows,,,,,yet also, the fact that Tilda Swinton is one of the most charismatic actresses of our time wouldn't hurt.

I just saw this film last night and it left me completely cold.
I too love Tilda Swinton and everything in the film is so lush and exquisite (especially the score, which I loved) but I just couldn`t connect with the story at all. It just felt like a extremely dispassionate and slow soap opera to me.

Did you see that Orlando has been rereleased in theaters? It's showing downtown at The Quad I think. That was my first Tilda Swinton film.

I can understand that. But the way the whole affair was understated is one of the reasons I liked the film. It was like looking at two people in real life from a distance, trying to keep their relationship a secret, not showing any obvious displays to give themselves away. It reminds me a bit of another movie I really like In The Mood For Love where you weren't even sure until the end if the main characters were having an affair or not. Of course there's no such question in I Am Love because of the love scenes, but how the story was told works for me.

I have the old DVD, but might have to check it out again in the theater one day after work. Nothing beats seeing a movie on the big screen in its proper environment.
