i would just forget about it. He can call the cops all he likes.

Now I am thinking you 'sold' this to him and he decided not to pay? If so report him as a non-paying winner.

A couple of weeks ago something similar happened to me, I did a second chance offer and luckily that person bought it.

I once sold an authentic Coach bag on Ebay. It was in perfect condition. I listed it with pics of the inside/outside/you name it. I posted the exact dimensions of the bag.

About a week after she had it, Ms. Bitch tried to say there were scuff marks and the bag was larger than she was looking for.

neutral

She did not get her money back. lol
[Edited 3/23/10 19:06pm]

Edit. It was a Coach bag, not LV.

If you start giving out refunds to everyone who has buyer's regret, you will not make a profit. I believe that refunds should be issued only if authenicity is an issue. Report him as a non-payer and if you want to leave negative feedback, that's your choice, but some of them will retaliate, so think about it. Make it clear in your next listing serious bidders only or else they will be reported, and to ask questions before bidding and end of auction. Word it professionally. You can also have bids blocked when people has a record of non-payment, and you can also block bids when people have no feedback history. Again, that's your choice. I also agree with Veronikka that you can sell it to the next highest bidder. Good luck.

I recently sold a brand new MJ t-shirt (xmas gift) to someone who left me negative feedback. I've been selling stuff on ebay for 7+ years and never had a negative feedback until this person. They claimed the size was not what the tag said (L) and the color was not the same color as described (black). wacky And they left feedback before contacting me about their issues.

Now I have 91% positive because of that dumbass.

It's been going downhill ever since ebay changed it so that buyers can only receive positive feedback. That asshole left me negative for no reason and I can't do anything about it because I only have the option to leave him positive feedback. mad

You can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers -- only positive.

Also, you can't really block people with no feedback; only if they have a certain number of unpaid item issues against them. I am now dealing with someone who won a Prince cd from me 3+ weeks ago and hasn't paid me yet. He had 0 feedback and just joined ebay in January. neutral

Yeah, it sucks. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal but between that guy leaving me a negative in January and this non-payer, it's becoming too much of a hassle. The non-payer could still pay, then leave me negative because I opened a non-payment case against him. What can I do? Nothing. I hope the guy doesn't pay (he only has 1 more day to respond) so I can just request a credit from ebay. As a seller you can do everything right, and still receive negative feedback and have no way to defend yourself.

Exactly. And that's what's happening. Buyers weild all the power because they can leave negative feedback but sellers who deal with slow payers, non payers, etc. have few options for recourse.

That's what I mean about retaliation. I've sold items on and off for 4 years, and never received negative feedback. I'll look into the new rule about negative feedback because I wasn't aware of it. Also, I wanted to say that in a listings, you should always be precise about the item. If there is any defects, scratches or ink marks, odor, whatever it is, let it be known. That way, it shouldn't be a problem, and the buyer knows what to expect.

Wow sad , but on the bright side, not all sellers have those restrictions, for it is at their discretion. I don't mind allowing everyone to bid on my items as long as they pay. We all had to crawl before we walk, right? smile

I know, right? this one didn't even say in their shipping thingie that they don't accept first timers, and as soon as I put in a bid and there was a second bid I was suddenly blocked and got a note saying if I tried to contact the seller I would get my eBay account suspended

confused cry
