Drugs & alchahol...

this past year I have been doing things to a exstream, reguarding the things I do on my
casual time...

I started drinking at the age of 13, i'm 24 now, But I have never had a problem... until now.
I sometimes drink in the morning. and I drink just 2 be in a good mood...
Now I have a few frinds of mine who say that they are concerned about my drinking.
I also been going to work with a few drinks in me...

The only drugs I have took previously was only weed. But a few months ago I tryed mushrooms.
And latly I have took the drug exstacy a few times...I like ex cause I feel one emotion when I'm on it.
and that emotion is "love"..I love every one and every thing around...I think thats why I keep
taking it occasionaly...it is a substitution.

anyways, now that I step out of myself and take a look...I see self destruction, or could it be
I'm just substituting my empty space with...drugs and alchahol.

But could any one relate to this period in my life right now ? ?
has anyone has had positive or negative exspiriences with Alchahol?
exstacy ? ? weed?? or any other types of narcotics or vices (gambling, eating, ect.) ? ?

Eye don't want 2 turn the Org in2 "AA" but U know,...I like U...all

It seems you need alcohol and drugs to function normally and to feel good.
That's a major sign of being an addict.

Not real sure what you expect to get out of this post. Support? A greater grasp of what you already know? Youtube hits?

Hi Nyse

Feel free to ignore this post but I really hope you don't.

I spent four months in a liver ward of a hospital two years ago.
Now I wasn't there for me...I like a drink but I'm a "drink at the pub once a week maximum" kind of guy.

I was there because my mother was an alcoholic and was dying of cirrhosis and the complications that came with it.
I sat there every day for four months watching her slip away. In the end she was almost childlike. She had lost concept of time, she was hallucinating constantly, she was unable to walk without a walker, she had lost all control of her bowels. I hope I never have another experience like this. To see someone who had chosen alcohol over her own life and her family slip away was the worst experience of my life. To this day there isn't a day where I don't feel sadness for her and the loss of her life, as she was such a beautiful and intelligent person.

Now I also met a lot of the other people in the ward and was surprised at how young many of them were. Luckily many of them had had their addictions caught in time and were trying to fix them. The youngest lady in the ward was eighteen years old, already hospitalised due to drink-related illness.

There's nothing wrong with having a drink or a smoke. It's all our choice. I myself love a Guinness and a joint nod but there comes a point when it's too much. I used to go to work stoned during one period in my life when I was feeling down but after this experience I never will again. I now have a kind of mantra: "Drink is for the pub, pot is for parties"

As an aside, I also went to a high school where many of us were the same. We used to smoke pot with the teachers on occasion. Quite a few of my high school friends are now dead because they never got out of the party mode.

I wish you all the best hug

my sister has a drinking problem and we were going 2 do an intervention but no one had the guts 2 confront her about it
so i did, i told her she has a problem and that we think she needs help, i mean she has a kid, do it 4 him but she didn't take it well and we really don't talk much anymore because of the elephant in the room and she like u has drinks in the morning
in my head i lost a great sister
if u don't do it 4 urself do it 4 the people around u and remember they love ya man and they r probably hurting watching u destroy urself
we're here 4 ya if u need 2 vent through it
this is life...this is real

cry that's so sad, I'm so sorry.

I visited a friend dying of liver cancer in the last week of his life. He was one that ALWAYS had a scotch in his hand whenever I saw him. He was a hard drinker. In his hospital bed he was a yellow husk of his former self, nobody could do anything for him apart from pump morphine into him to keep him comfortable as he wasted away. My best friend's mother died year before last after a 4 month sudden illness, of the same thing. Again, long time hard drinker.
AWFUL way to die.

Alcoholism runs in my family, my father, mother and uncle were all alcoholics. My brother was a serious alcoholic up until about 10 years ago. I love the feeling of a few drinks, but I stop after 2 because I never want to cause the pain alcohol does on the entire family.
I wish you the best. rose

Possibly one of the worst. It constantly amazes me how this is possible for this to continually happen. I wish there was more social responsibility.

I won't blame you.

I've been an alcoholic for 7 years, and a drug user as well.

First, congratulations cuz if you talk about it you are already able to face it and get out of this.

Two, you are losing your time and your money. If you ever have the guts to turn your back to alcohol and drugs, you will see how much time and energy you spent for nothing. Yes, in my opinion is self destruction, and maybe you should go further and ask for some medical help.

Three, you're the boss. I find you very unattractive in that movie, well, you're drunk. But you are the only leader of your life, and it's up to you to make it the way you want it to be.

I wish you the best.

I can't speak for the alcohol part because I never drank but when I was around 20 / 25 I was pretty heavy on weed and I said to myself the same words.

They say recognizing is the first step and treatment is the second; I didn't need any treatment, my weed addiction was easy to handle and I kicked the habit in a couple of months, I still smoke 5 / 10 joints a year when I'm out with some friends but I'm 100% sure I'll never reduce myself to a stoned zombie again.

I'm sure you can do it, I wish you the best! http://www.brainsource.co..._drugs.htm

did you meant to say that when you are around people you feel a lot of tension?
If so i can relate to that. i'm familiar with a social phobia. reefer and alcohol is contra productive.

I'm curious. do you have suicidal thoughts?

Yeah I used 2 be over board with the weed...5-6 blunts a day...now I have a bag of bud on me and I have not touched it in close 2 a week...so the weed is
not much of a problem any more...It's the alchahol.

thanks 4 the positivity my freind...

thats exactly what i'm speaking of...I feel alot of tension around others.
so the alchahol get me loose so to speak...

I never have serious suicidal thoughts...I do think about death.
but never me hurting myself....I respect U taking ur time out 2 talk 2 me.
