What Takes You Back?

What takes you back to your childhood each and every time?...Is it a song, a movie, a tv show?...And activity?

Spill it... cool

For me, it's songs by the group Bread for some reason lol lol...If I hear either "It Don't Matter To Me" or "Make It With You", I'm instantly transported back to Virginia and my mom's kitchen or a friend's basement (Raliegh, from around the corner)...

Also the song 'Crystal Blue Persuasion" puts me immediately back in Chicago and my cousin Sissy being in love with my sister's then-boyfriend lol neutral...I swear I can see the wallpaper and everything.

I used to have a little bottle of perfume that made me think of a wasp nest down at my grandma's boat house.

For me it's the look and smell of autumn in the suburbs. TOTALLY sends me back to walking home from kindergarten and first grade, singing Halloween songs and watching my Jewish neighbors celebrate their High Holy Days.

Wow,the first song reminds me of making these plastic key chains that had a four box loop.
Well look whom I found dipping their toe in the murky waters! :eyeroll: At least offer me a damn cup of coffee!

really, I have no idea what it was meant to smell like
I couldn't wear it, but I would take a whiff now and then to relive my childhood

Actually, I read once that the sense of smell is suppose to be the most powerful memory activator we have nod...even moreso than sight or sound.

yup nod totally
when I smell chocolate pudding mix powder I think of the Donald Duck comics I read as we drove through the canola fields in Denmark on the way up to my grandmas house, and pear flavoured anything makes me think of an elephant and a pebbly beach with pine trees. I've worked out the elephant part though - I'm pretty sure there was a picture of one on the wrapper of the ice-cream hmmm
