Another tip I've read about but never tried yet was pouring extra virgin olive oil in an ice cube tray and freezing it.
Then use it like butter spread on your toast.

Come on people. I look at this thread and from one e-mail the initial poster put up people have actually decided not to eat margarine anymore right here and now without a second thought. Scary stuff.

Every once in a while if I want to indulge in a piece of buttered toast or something I use a yogurt-butter hybrid they sell in the markets here. It's pretty yummy.
