i think 'batman returns' gets a bad rap. i thought it was weird, dark, funny and psychologically screwed up in the best possible way.

oh, and one of the best sequels ever:

Airplane II.
It was so corny, but the stuff going on in the airport behind the scenes was HILARIOUS. There were so many sight gags, from the posters on the walls changing, to drug deals going down! falloff

i think i'm in a HUGE minority who actually liked the third X-Men movie. redface

i knew it was gonna be all kinds of wrong and nothing close to faithful to the comic book storylines, so i just enjoyed it as such and really really had a good time seeing famke janssen play a really pissed off woman with superpowers who snaps one day and kills everyone and destroys everything around her, simply because SHE HAS HAD IT. lol

it's far from the best sequel ever made, but i think it's another one that gets a bad rap. or maybe it doesn't. after all, 'xanadu' is one of my favorite movies. don't listen to me. redface

I'm a huge X-Men comics fan who loved the 3rd X-Men movie (although the 2nd is my favorite). Only the first was lackluster... and I could gladly overlook the flaws since it was the first Marvel movie that didn't completely suck.

X2 was the best in the trilogy for my money. I'm not exaggerating when I say the opening sequence had me crying tears of joy. redface

But I definitely thought X3 was enjoyable too.

I both loved and hated the third X-Men movie. Loved it for all of the Dark Phoenix stuff. Hated it because they got it so wrong. But that scene at her childhood home where she blows the roof of the joint left me pretty breathless.

Spider-Man 2 is my pick for best sequel. One of my favorite movies, in fact.

2010 - I thought it was great. Not the weird masterpiece of the original, but it was a great sci-fi movie.

ALIENS - I like the fact that James Cameron knew he couldn't just do an Aline part 2, and opted to make a different kind of movie than the original altogether. The first was a masterpiece, but essential a b-movie haunted house flick set to sci-fi and beautifully rendered backdrops. The second was shoot 'em up thriller. I thought the complimented each other beautifully. I wish this was true with Alien 3. I really wish David Fincher had been given a better script and story, and all the time he needed to make the flick.

A Very Brady Sequal - I'm sorry but falloff falloff falloff

The Empire Strikes Back - I don't care what anybody says, the first Star Wars movie was NOT great. The Empire Strikes back was a far better film.

Lord of The Rings 2 and 3. Each sequal was better than the movie before it. A bit over the top, but hey--it's a fantasy flick.

Throat gaggers 8. This one is far better than the previous 7. These girls sure can suck dick.

I thought it was too. Better than the first CROW.

Actually, I like all the spidey movies, though the third one was a bit meh.
