Cupcakes

I have a real love-hate relationship with cup cakes.

I LOVE them because they are DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL and self-contained...a real on-the-go piece of cake.

I HATE them because they are so tiny that I want to eat more than one and that makes me feel like a pig

Those that make icky cupcakes are evil. Cupcakes should be beautiful and tasty.

I have a box of cupcakes down stairs that are calling me.

Recently "Cupcakeries" as they are called are popping up all over town here. They sure are cute and delicious but, I have a problem paying 4.00 dollars for each one. If you only need one, or if it's just a treat for yourself it's ok. But when buying for 3 girls and one for me...it's crazy to pay 16 bucks for 4 cupcakes. rolleyes

Cupcakes are very versatile!

You can get a bunch of them and make cool shapes out of them.

A cupcake cake if you will....already pre-"slice" and ready for consumption!

woot! Cupcakes!!!!!

and you're really just paying for fancy icing. i've been to those places and while i've been mildly impressed with the flavored icings, it's always the same ol' stuff for the actual cupcakes. chocolate, vanilla, maybe red velvet.

go to trader joes, get a box of green tea muffin/cake mix, make a batch and experiment with cream cheese frosting and green tea powder, maybe throw some cinnamon in there somewhere. you'll be better off at a fraction of the price.

Cupcake Commandment #1- Cupcakes shalt not be practical.

Cupcake Commandment #2- Cupcakes shalt not be healthy.

Actually, cupcakes can be whatever you want them to be. That's what makes them so magical. Those are just two of my own personal cupcake commandments.

that's just insane. does anyone remember roselynn's bakeries? they might have just been a regional indiana thing but they were an AMAZING bakery franchise that i remember from when i was a kid (are they even still around?) - they had the best cupcakes. i don't like this gourmet specialty stuff. i want to be surrounded by cookies and donuts and neopolitans and coconut stacks when i am contemplating my cupcakes. otherwise, where's the magic?

oh my GOD, i should do that. when we're sitting on the porch smoking on weekends, we always have neighbors walking past and gawking at us. i could put a sign in the window advertising cupcakes and we could make money while we smoke! and who doesn't love a cupcake purchased fresh from a smokey porch? lol
