What, if any, dietary supplements are you taking?

Three or four times a week I take a basic A-Z multivitamin with minerals and 'good bacteria'.

Maybe once a week, or if I get sick, I take one Sona MultiPlus multi vitamin and mineral tablet. Everything's well over 100% RDA in this so I try not to go overboard.

Every couple of days I put a sachet of this iron supplement water in with my juice.

Lastly, two or three times a week I take 500mg spirulina tablets for protein.

So... what are you taking? smile

He works very hard on his product placement threads.

This shitty thread is better than one of his, and you probably put no thought into it.

Chromium...to help regulate my insulin levels...with the great side effect being that it also wonderful for boosting metabolism and burning fat cool

I also take a bit of fish oils from time to time, cod liver or salmon oil tabs, great for the skin and oiling up the insides to help in case the bowls are feeling "irregular" boxed

...and the week before my period, if I actually remember to, or if I realize I haven't incorporated enough mineral rich veggies like spinach into my diet, I pop a couple of zinc tablets for a few days to ward off some SERIOUS menstral cramps dead

You have to be quite careful with amounts of both chromium and cod liver oil don't you? We bought cod liver oil for my wife's parents as it's supposed to be good for people with arthritis. Their bones aren't so good these days. However, I've read that taking it regulalry will lead to getting too much vitamin A. hmmm

Not to rain on anyone's diet supplement parade though. boxed lol

I was taking Passionflower and St John's Wort tablets recently. Most of my vitamins I get are from eating lots of fruit and drinking juices.

I don't eat very healthy most of the times. The reason I take the pills.

thumbs up!

That's my thinking too, really, which is why I don't take any vitamin tablet every single day. We make sure we buy 4 litres of fruit juice every week, plus 2 or 3 different fruits, so that we can just take vitamin tablets a few times a week as a bonus.

I used to take a lot of different supplements, mainly herbal ones. I used to supplement when I was exercising a lot and had extra spending money.
I did feel better when I took a multi vitamin and supplements.

I take 400 mg of magnesium a day (most Americans are deficient in magnesium - a fact supported by the number of TV ads for laxatives and the number of chocolate-craving women lol ), cod liver oil, and NAC (n-acetyl cysteine - a very powerful anti-oxidant and immune booster).

For the person who asked about the cod liver oil and vitamin A overdose, it is virtually impossible to get a toxic dose of natural vitamin A (or D, for that matter) from cod liver oil.

The studies done on vitamin A toxicity all focused on synthetic vitamin A, which is found in most regular supplements (including multivitamins). Cod liver oil is a natural source of vitamin A (along with things like egg yolks, yellow butter and organ meats).

Antibiotics, laxatives, fat substitutes and cholesterol-lowering drugs all interfere with vitamin A absorption. So if your parents are on, say, statin medications (and given the shameful statin push of the drug companies and medical establishment, whose parents aren't rolleyes ), they need that vitamin A even more.

In addition, natural vitamin D (also found in cod liver oil) may fight cancer.

Carlson's lemon-flavored cod liver oil is a great cod liver oil. No fishy taste, at all! cool

I notice a difference when I'm taking it so I believe it does. smile I dropped nearly 6 lbs in a week once - I was really good that week (worked out 5 times, ate really well) BUT I can't rule out help from Hydroxycut. Even when I'm eating well, working out & not taking it I can only drop 1-3 lbs a week on my own - never 5 or 6.

I notice the same thing...I take it alternating weeks to give my system a rest from it. I also noticed that my energy level is higher when I take them, it's probably the high doses of caffine. And hello, don't let me drink coffee while I'm taking it... I'm like this eek for most of the day. (I can't lie, I like that feel just a little bit evey now and then razz )
