Elizabeth: The Golden Age movie

Damn, the sequel to my favorite film of all time is getting trashed by critics. sad

http://www.rottentomatoes...olden_age/

I'll still go see it since most agree it's visually stunning. Plus Samantha Morton is in it as Mary Queen of Scots. drool

You know what...? We might have to just ignore these damned critics and just partake of it straight, no chaser. And Samantha Morton is in it, too...? Puh-leeze...we're just gonna have to this talk to the hand to the critics for now and enjoy it for ourselves. We can always lament later if it was a big piece of yuck nod

Only $6.2 million at the U.S. box office this weekend. sad

I'm surprised the budget got doubled to $50 million this time. The original film must have done very well overseas.

I've read more than one review that complains about the music, saying there's too much of it and that it's too bombastic. Considering how musically overproduced a lot of movies are these days, getting such a review is quite an achievement. lol

One of the major criticisms of the film was that the history book was thrown out when writing the script.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. Visually it looks stunning from what I've seen. I ought to go and form my own opinion rather than relying on that of critics!

I saw it last week as well. It was a lot more frivolous than the first film, particularly the first half an hour or so, but it wasn't terrible at all. The costumes were fantastic.
