Yeah, but the first movie sucked big time. I won't even bother with part two. These "vs" movies are just retarded, imo. I just know that if Michael Myers ever make a "VS" movie, I'll be one angry fan. That reminds me Wrong Turn 2 & House on Haunted Hill 2 just came out. They went straight to video.....I know they're gonna be terrible.....but I'll end up renting them anyway. lol

I'd much rather take a new Alien movie with the real Ripley character (I don't care even if they have to make the third and fourth movies into one long dream sequence to make it work). And of course Sigourney Weaver should play her. It doesn't matter to me how old she might be today, she could do Ripley until she doesn't have teeth anymore and I'd still be happy. nod

Maybe it's cause I just got back from watching 30 ways to bore you or whatever starring Josh Hardon, but I'm just dreading this movie.

lawd, I'm just not thrilled about this.

Alien was and is my favorite haunted house movie disguised as sci-fi. Aliens was a great action movie. After that, the movies just failed to live up to their genre expectations.

But combining them with he Predator series for the potential cash cow that they are just tipped the scales to blah irrecoverably.

Of course I've seen the trailer for this thing and it appears that it will at least be a rated R movie, meaning some better action sequences and hopefully scares.

The combined story-lines just makes no sense though. For example, in the distant future, when Ripley's timeline takes place, are humans still not advanced enough to be clued into the Predators' existence? I mean, Weyla-Yutani's bio-whatever seems to know alot about the aliens---why not the Predators?

I just wish they'd continue, like retina said, with a new true "Alien" movie, even if they have to write 3 and 4 off as a bad dream sequence. Ultimately, Ridley Scott coming back in and directing something , with or sans Ripley, would be nice. I would really love to see a new Alien movie that behaves like a Horror or Sci-Fi movie than a teenage video-game.

I agree! Of all the Aliens movies, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, were the best. The 4th with that weird white thing, and other scenes.....Sigourney, with a motherly relationship with the creature was too odd. The 3rd, with the prisoners was pretty cool. The IV drug abuser as lover....

She's still hot. Anytime, a new Aliens!

The problem I had with Alien 3 is that it just didn't make any sense.
I couldn't sympathize with double y chromozone murderers and rapists, and felt that the environment Ripley was in should have been more hostile. You never get a sense except in one scene that her life is in peril from more than just that damned Alien, which itself seemed clumbsy and stupid compared to the ones in the previous 2 movies.

So I didn't care for the prisoners being picked off. And once I found out Ripley was going to die any way, I had little to root for. I knew she would be the sacrificial lamb--the Christ figure.

It just didn't scare me or make me care enough. Which is a damned shame cause Sigourney was fucking hot balled, and the gothic, rundown scenery was gorgeously rendered, except for a few of the painted glass scenes.

Yes it is, and yes the first one was.

But being that the Alien is in it, I feel compelled to punish myself. If you put the alien in the Buffy series, I'd probably finally tune into that. shrug
