I have never in my life partaken of any pharmaceuticals if you get my drift, however i am undeniably addicted to adrenaline...no question. Being alive for me is about that rush I think the closest I've gotten to a true adrenaline rush was coming up here on a convoy the last time I was here....we drove from Kuwait up to Baghdad when things were hairy....nothing happened, but my senses were so heightened and alert that I literally would have shot a fly off a camel's ass if I would've had to....I was nervous but not afraid, you know? It got weird right as we pulled into the city limits....it was roughly 6 a.m. and all the people were heading into the markets...lots of produce trucks cutting across three lanes of traffic and cutting into our convoy....understand that we were armed to the teeth, locked and loaded.....well, this carload of Iraqis pulls up alongside the truck I'm driving and starts marking the pace...so I'm figuring "here we go..." then I see one of the occupants bend down and go for something...so now, I'm fingering the trigger and thumbing the safety, making peace with whatever deity I look towards....the guy rises up and unfurls an American flag....and the only thing I'm thinking at that point is "dude you don't know HOW CLOSE you just came to meeting your maker...."... now, I smoked pot back in the day...even dabbled in a little snort or two...but you're right....there is nothing that compares to the adrenaline rush.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
