Earlier in the morning, tornado sirens sounded briefly in Douglas, Johnson and Leavenworth counties after some rotation was spotted in the storm system.


Storm damage was reported in Lawrence on the University of Kansas campus and downtown. Some store windows were reported blown out along Massachusetts. A Family Dollar store in Wyandotte County lost part of its roof. Areas in Liberty reported getting baseball-sized hail.

Was that a bad thunder storm or a tornado? I don't see any funnel clouds and the damage doesn't look nearly intense enough to be a tornado.

while this was happening, im looking at the situation going "holy shit ! here it is !!!! i KNEW this shit was comming!"

heres the deal though, the sirens didnt go off until AFTER that had passed.. it was like 5 minutes later by the time the sirens went off, we were totally out of damage... the last thing i saw on TV was where it said, damaging storms - well, they were for sure right about THAT shit !


i saw a news guy outside this morning, and i shared the photos with him from my camera.... the news people are trying to say right now that it was 'straight line winds' he took that picture with him to prove that it was infact something other than that. did a nice lil interview on tv this morning lookin like a crazy woman im sure this shit was what everyone woke up to this morning

As for taking pictures during a storm....naughty naughty....you need to get away from all windows and head for the basemaent or if there is no basement a small inneroom with no windows (like a bathroom) because your life is literally on the line.

Just reread where you said you were heading towards the bathroom so that's at least good.

i sent the photos on to the weather folks at the news station, they are trying to decide if it was strong winds, or a tornado... we all know better though
