Urban Myths

I remember when I was younger that I managed to coax my sister into believing that Shakespeare's Sister were in fact the great bard's sisters. I can't remember falling for any urban myths really. Not sure if anyone was convinced into believing that Blockbuster's presenter Bob Holness played the saxaphone on Gerry Rafferty's 'Baker Street'?

What have you fallen for, or even better, what legends have you started?

One of my best friends thought that red M&Ms were taken off the market in the 80s because they caused Gary Coleman's growth to be stunted.

I believed a friend when he told me that Evian (the spring water brand) was named Evian only because it spells "naive" backwards, which according to him was a secret joke by the manufacturers since they actually managed to sell water to people. I guess I subconsciously thought it was too good a story to be ruined by rational doubt. smile

Are Urban Myths different than City Myths? confuse

Urban Legend, City Legend (just doesn't sound right, does it?)

I'll check the urban dictionary.

JK Rowling was inspired by a character in Greek Mythology called Harrus Potterthus, who was an alchemist.

Joe Kelley dedicated 'Interactive' for me on the same show. I wasn't stupid enough to call someone a git though. I think you should make plans to get someone to call him a twit.

I am going to hatch a plan to get that darksided woman to chant his name repeatedly while in a trance. "2the9s, as god is my witness, 2the9s."

co-sign. I have the 45. I can't believe someone mentioned this song. I think it's the first time I've heard someone mention it.

"He got some dreams about buying some land.
Give up the booze and the one night stand.
And then he'll settle down,
In a quiet little town and forget about everything."

Love it!!!!!

scariest urban myth i have heard was..about the guy who goes to mexico or arizona buys a cactus..not just any cactus but a rare cactus..when he starts watering the cactus back as his home..the cactus moves..the next day a friend comes over..he looks at the cactus and runs out of the house..couple of hours later the friends calls the guy who then tells him to get rid of the cactus..so the man puts the cactus in the driveway..the man's friend comes back with a flamethrower and burns the cactus inside the cactus were five giant tarantulas!..turns out that tartantulas put thier eggs inside that rare cactus..now whats so scary about that..when i was told this story..a giant taruntula past by..and now i have a phobia of spiders...
