Is the Org simplifying your personality?

It seems to me that a lot of people on this site have very clear and straightforward personalities/styles, sometimes to the extent that it makes me wonder if they can really be like that in real life? I'm sure they are actually more complex!

For example:

Nero - She's pretty much always tough and aggressive in her posts. She's often funny too, but it's that biting no-fear-toughness that is always shining through.

2the9s - Aaaaalways joking. On rare occasions (usually involving book discussions confused ) he seems to be serious, but even then his lone smilies at the bottom of his posts make me wonder if he's just pulling our legs.

shausler - The man can't be jive talking like that in real life, can he? lol

Cloudbuster - The man of the many poopsandwiches and childish/funny/cute duels with Christopher or who else happens to get in his way. Have you ever read a serious sentence - or any sentence for that matter - that Cloudbuster has written? smile

klhk - No further comment necessary.

I'm sure the org is simplifying my personality too. For example, I think my serious sides sometimes take the upper hand, but it's hard for me to get a clear picture of that since it's too close to home.

Do you feel that your personality is simplified here on the Org? And if so, what is causing it? Are we all under Ben's perverted spell? Or maybe Prince's? hmmm

There it is! That mystifying smiley!

If it hadn't been for that, I would have actually thought that he wanted us to pull one of his digits.

It is for many people. And it helps you to get known I think. The more sophisticated ones (like me cool ) stay undercover for a long time. lol

Okay there are exceptions. Some people's whole personalities are right there, plain for all to see.

Reading someone's posts doesn't mean you actually know them. At the best you get to see a bit of their personality, but even in real life it takes a while before you get the whole picture and even then some people might decide to show you whichever part of them they are most comfortable sharing.

I don't know what people think of my posts or what they think of me really. Personally, I think I probably appear and folks on here assume that I'm lot less intelligent then I really am.

Good point. We've narrowed down our personalities in real life, then the Org forums narrow them down further. Maybe in the chat room, people are reduced to amoebas that go "guck?", "guck! guck!".

Seriously though, I appreciate the glimpses of people's personalities that you mention. I just wish I knew how representative they are.

I don't think people find you unintelligent. But I think they think you're a cute, cuddly teddybear of a man (just look at your avatar!). I'm sure that's not the whole story though.

I think I'm just like my posts. I usually don't talk a lot...I'm quiet and keep to myself...usually....I always try to be funny cuz I like to see/hear people laugh.

on occasion I go off and rant about some shit. Like how ...oh never mind...sammi told me to be quiet about it...

was that funny....lol...

You see what's happening? Not only are our own personalities getting simplified, they are getting simplified into one big shared personality! omfg

Another prime example. What used to be an eloquent and opinionated young lady has now been reduced to a lovey-dovey love-smitten goo! It's all the Org's fault. disbelief
