I had all 4 taken out in the dentist office years ago. It was no fun looking like a chipmunk with a face stuffed with gauze and having to take 222's with codiene.

When I had my first removed in military hospital, the narcotic did not work. THey had to give me three injections.

Then the tooth broke and they had to cut me open even wider, then with a huge TANG, (sorry, Dutch word) they had to WRIK (another fun Dutch word) so hard I had some neck muscles pulled out of alignment.

I had to go home by bus, train and motor, but I got violently sick before I made it home and fell unconsious on the bus.

Good thing I still had my military plates on, so they just had the ambulance send me to military hospital again, where I was nursed by male nurses for two days.

Oh well...

They put me under, so I don't remember. I have a HUGE tolerance for pain medication, so my doc gave me 40 pills of demerol. True story.

No horror here, just opiate induced lucidity.

yahoo, I'm back home and my jaw feels like, ehm, well, like
I don't know what it feels like since it's pretty much numb
all over.

turns out I had a bit of a complication -as always with me-
so they had to drill and hack and saw and cut away at the
jaw in order to get the teeth loosened and then -like with
Gooey- they shook my head rather fucking violently to get
the last one out.

then I went home and had a nap for about 2 hours. now I'm
up and the sore spots hurt like hell though since the local
aneast has all but completely worn off right now.

I feel like the elephant man, yet strangely when I look in
the mirror I only look like a hamster gearing up for one
fucker of a winter

biggrin

Anyways, from the feel of it right now, and gathering that
it will no doubt become a lot worse over a few hours I would
love some of Jerseykrs "Opiate induced Lucidity"

that sounds just fine nurse

I had to have surgery during my wisdom teeth removal--they where impacted.

They also had to keep me awake for fear that I could dislocate my jaw if asleep (?????)

I was sooooo high I remember almost none of it--just that my dentist and his assistants seemed to be wearing playboy bunny ears.

They healing part wasn't bad at all. I was high for the next week on narcotics. Plus I had it done with I was 20 years old so I healed very fast.

I had 3 taken out (I never got a 4th) and I was fine until I started partying 4 hours later. Smoking, drinking and eating anything I wanted led to the most horrible pain in my life. I got dry sockets in 2 of them and I felt like someone was hitting me over the head with a sledge hammer. I had to get my gums scraped and packed twice. No fun.

bawl

why did I have to push my luck and ask for horror stories?

I've just crawled to the computer first time since late
thursday.

First my jaw got about 8 times it's normal size since they
had to drill into the jawbone to extract the teeth.

My dad later told me that everyone came in before and after
me was in and out in 20 minutes. I was in there for over an
hour. lol.

Apart from the swelling I got medication that caused a rather
severe allergic reaction with my anti-depressants.

So there I was, puking for about 20 hours, putting insane kinds
of pressure on my newly stitched jaw and not being able to do
anything by ly in some shimmering world between sleep and
delirium.

Anywho, day 4 now and I think the swelling has stopped. it
hasn't gotten bigger as far as I can tell.

I just ate some banana mashed with some bread and hot water
this morning which I was finally able to keep inside due to
the anti-puke repositories I got yesterday smile

Anywho, I'm around here again, having a peek at the org and
I hope I'll be back with a vengeance soon LOL.

cheers.
