Lady Gaga has revealed the name of her new single.

She shared a series of Instagram posts that created a mosaic spelling out the song's title, “Perfect Illusion,” and revealing it’ll be released in September.

Gaga is currently prepping her upcoming fifth studio album, known for now as LG5, which is set to debut later this year. Producers reportedly working on the project include Mark Ronson, Nile Rodgers, Diane Warren, Giorgio Moroder, RedOne, and Bloodpop.

Finally old gal got some seasoned vets at the boards. I hope this works out for her. I've never liked her TBH but that is quite a team.

She needs to do something original soon... Her upcoming role in yet another remake of A Star Is Born sure ain't. razz

Based on the producers, it looks like this will be an album in the vein of music from the mid 70's to the early 80's. Will scope if true.

I doubt it'll be out this year but that would be nice, 2016 has been light on exciting big name releases.

I hope her version of "I Want Your Love" is on the album. I want that song. Not feeling "Perfect Illusion". At least, not right now.

I will be interested to hear it. But why does it and most albums these days have to have so many different producers.

I think Mark Ronson and Nile will come up with something good, they almost always do. I don't care for Diane Warren, she has to be one of the worst most predictable songwriters.

Giorgio is a mixed bag. We know what RedOne will sound like, and I'm not familiar with Bloodpop.

It's going to be hard to make a cohesive album with all those different producers with different styles. It would have been nice if she had just chosen one or two.

I am very proud of the new direction Lady Gaga is taking her music. I use to think she was overrated and I never got her hype but I can see that when she takes away the gimmicks, she is actually quite talented and I like this Lady Gaga. I am looking forward to this new album. It sounds like she will have a lot of old school influences and collaborators.

I don't really like that either. I don't see why you need 10 songwriters/producers for one album, ridiculous.

I will be interested in seeing what she does. I hope it's not another album of nothing but dance floor thumping.

She needs to change it up within the pop genre. Dance/pop divas that have longevity do vary their sound and do ballads and midtempos, not just thumping over and over.

People love to criticize them, but artists like Madonna, Britney, Rihanna and Janet have a lot more variety to their music than Lady Gaga has shown so far.

I've always thought she's talented but she became too much of a freak show. In my opinion she did the right thing by touring with Tony Bennet and tone it all down a bit so we'll see what her new music sounds like. Perfect Illusion will have to be a great single though, as I feel most people are happy to write her off altogether.

I thought she was great in American Horror Story: Hotel as The Countess, I hope to see her doing more acting in tv and film. Despite all the hype about her fashion etc, she is a great talent who could pretty much do any kind of music at this point.

Agreed. That meat dress and lit cigarette hat were obNOXIOUS despite how "artsy" she felt they were. It was a smart choice 2 move in the Jazz direction with Tony Bennett. Now, we'll see if that has had any impact on her new(er) direction. Not a fan tho.

For me it was the on-stage vomiting that made me go off her completely. But she seems a lot more calm now, so we shall see.

I like the approach she's taking on this new release.

It's fine. Nothing special but its nice to listen too. A bit shorter than I feel it should be though and feels like its missing something else.

I'm happy she's back on the pop scene, though this does not have the infectious energy I've come to expect from her.

Well, Ol' boy MJ from your Avatar was also pretty keen on overburdening his last few albums with what producers he deemed to be "In" at the time..

well this should do alright on radio. it's got all the hallmarks of what i hear on the
radio all of the time: nice enough idea, nice vocals, interesting first minute, which
is then followed by 2 more minutes of repeating one or two lines over and over to
an ever increasing, frantic wall of sound, until you feel you're going to vomit, at
which point the song is over and the next one starts, and you're able to relax for
about a minute, until the same two lines or even two words start to be yelled out
at you again and again and again and again.

still, i love some of the vocal melody on this. i'm curious for the album. on all her
albums there were at leat a couple of tracks that i think are great. this has some
merit, but it's nothing special imo.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

It's half a song. 2:59 and half of it is repeating the title.

Yes, why are people saying this is rock? I don't hear any rock. It's not as good as Bad Romance. That was a catchy song, which this is not.

I don't think it will do well on radio. It's too loud and screamy with no melody or hook.

Ok...I love me some Lady Gaga, but from the little I heard of this, I can already hear people yelling this song is "Papa Don't Preach". Similar sound on the line "it is a perfect illusion" and Papa's, "I'm keeping my baby".....

This actually was the first song I thought of when I listened to it. The song sounds like it has potential but is lacking in the chorus. I feel more lyrics and melody could be added. I do really like the melody though for a start and her vocals. She is a really good singer. She really has a theatrical voice. I wish she would stop chasing the "pop sound" and go the Janelle Monae route with her music. She seems to be very heavily inspired by Madonna and the 80's.

Her "theatrical" vocals is one of the main things that annoys me about her even though I like a few songs. I know that's what most people consider good singing. But to me it just sounds like screaming and shrieking. Maybe her voice is technically good but it is very grating to me. Hurts my head. There's no subtlety or real emotion to it, just shrieking at the top of your lungs
