Yes, ladies and gentleman, we’re actually getting a new piece of work from Maxwell this year.

The Brooklyn native is readying his next effort, blackSUMMERS’night, which marks his first album in seven years.

Maxwell finally shares the track list for the new album, which is scheduled to hit shelves on July 1.

I like the new single and think this album is going to be a very good and strong album, unlike Now and Black.

For some reason I can´t play the video. I´ve tried Proxflow with my Chrome browser but it still won´t play.

Any proxy that you guys would recommend?

Perhaps you need to update your Chrome browser, and then reinstall Proxflow.

The titles are "pure Maxwell" again. The third track could be read as "III", as "3" in Roman numerals, or "Ill", as in "sick". I have hard time imagining how the title "1990x" is going to appear in the lyrics. The album ends with a track called "Night" and that's supposedly what the next record will be called(!).

On 4/21. The song was stuck in my head before, during and after the dreaded news of 4/21. It was very comforting to me that day and still is...

I will forever play this song every year on 4/21 in memory...

Hoping the rest of the CD is as good as the first single.

Great performance, looking good, good band.

Nah. I don't think it makes a difference. It felt a bit odd to me that Prince seemed to think there needed to be a title track (it got a bit weird with the likes of "Newpower Soul").

Just very unusual that the supposed title of the next record is the last track. Kind of cool too, I guess.

Love the linked song. I'm not crazy; the name of the album is the same as the last one, save for which letters are capitalized. I remember when he announced the Black Summers' Night trilogy when the first album came out (though we all thought it would unfold a bit quicker lol). I saw him and Jill Scott in concert in support of that first BSN album, and they were both fantastic.

Really looking forward to this. He really is the male Sade with the consistency, time between albums, and the fact that he really has his core "thing" musically. Yeah, they might stray a little bit for a song or two, but their sound is unmistakeable. It doesn't get boring because they do it so incredibly well and they don't release albums that often.

I like how Maxwell makes his fans wait for albums. This suggests that he has a life outside
of catering to those who worship performers/entertainers yet have no clue who the women
are who won the Nobel Peace Prize the past five years, for example.

If Maxwell rejects entertainer pedestal worship from his fans, then he reduces the likelihood
of succombing to MVP-itis, which befell our namesake. Yes, I'm on a soapbox but that's what
I do.
