These are just photos from their wedding in the 90s. Both looked pretty much the same for years (Dave's hair of course changed all the time)

I remember this picture!! I think it was in Ebony magazine...it was definitely in Jet magazine I'm sure!

I don't have a problem with musical tributes at all if the people doing the performances have actually rehearsed the material and aren't doing it just to get attention.

I admit, one thing's started to irk me a bit. It's all those "music bars" putting together "tribute nights" with just the DJs playing in the music of the deceased person. No live music at all. The organizers are sending invites via Facebook to just about everyone and the whole thing seems to be just a good way to sell more drinks during weekdays (what a surprise that these "tribute nights" aren't taking place during weekends when the bars are going to be full of people in any case). I mean, it's okay if people want to go to those, but I've decided not to go myself.

Really shocked & saddened to hear of David Bowie's passing. He was supremely talented and his music encompassed so many genres. I've always been a huge fan of his music, especially songs like "Fame", but after watching the Glass Spider concert it showed what a showman he was too and made me realise how super talented he really was. RIP David Bowie

Yeah where I live there are a few events like that as well that they waited until the weekend to have. That's one reason why I really loved seeing those pics and video of people in England celebrating the same night after they found out of his passing.

Of course I'm very, very curious... But there's a lot of curiosity because those were done so close to his death and he DEFINITELY knew that the cancer was terminal. To learn what he had to say... BUT, those were demos and unless he gave instructions for those to be released he didn't concider them ready to be heard, so... no.

DDB Brussels has detailed a fitting tribute by the Belgian music station Studio Brussels and MIRA Public Observatory for the late rock star David Bowie. As the music legend responsible for popular hits including Starman, Space Oddity, Life on Mars? and Hallo Spaceboy, it’s clear the universe was a great inspiration to Bowie. Now a constellation has been registered to honor him, recorded at the time of his death. It is delineated by seven stars that shine in the shape of the iconic lightning bolt seen on the cover of his Aladdin Sane album.

David Bowie now has a symbolic home among the other 88 existing constellations. Philippe Mollet from MIRA Public Observatory explains the star selection process in more detail:

“It was not easy to determine the appropriate stars. Studio Brussels asked us to give Bowie a unique place in the galaxy. Referring to his various albums, we chose seven stars—Sigma Librae, Spica, Alpha Virginis, Zeta Centauri, SAA 204 132, and the Beta Sigma Octantis Trianguli Australis—in the vicinity of Mars. The constellation is a copy of the iconic Bowie lightning and was recorded at the exact time of his death.”

This homage is linked to ‘Stardust for Bowie,’ developed on Google Sky, a virtual star constellation where fans can choose their most memorable Bowie tune.

Users can get involved by clicking inside the constellation to assign their favorite song by the rock star, leaving a short note as well. These can then be shared and viewed by other online visitors. As the Bowie lightning bolt fills up with tiny stars, each representing a fan’s message, the constellation shines brighter. I only have "Labyrinth" and a few others from that time, but I still respected him enormously. Also, as much as I dislike anything Eno, "heroes" was ahead of it's time in production. Just ask U2 LOL. They clearly liked that track.

Odd to see one of my "heroes", keyboardist/drum programmer Robbie Buchanan, on the Bowie tracks on the "Labyrinth" OST. He is an MOR king LOL. No wonder Bowie die hards hated albums like this.

Well, I finally had time to listen to the album (I waited until it could be what I was doing, not just one thing I was doing)... yes, it's wonderful. I still wish I'd heard it at least once before he died--I hadn't even seen the "Lazarus" video before it happened (I'd watched "Blackstar" several times, but as with the album I originally was waiting until I could give proper attention). So I never experienced it before it bacame an obvious "death album." It would have been nice to have at least a couple of days with it in a different mindset.

Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to Bowie on the opening night of The River tour in Pittsburgh.

"He supported our music way way back in the very beginning," Springsteen told the audience. "1973...he rang me up and...I visited him down in Philly when he was making the Young Americans record. He covered some of my music -- 'Hard to Be a Saint in the City' and 'Growin' Up' -- he was a big supporter of ours...anyway, we're thinking of him."
