To me he's clearly fighting cancer (the girl in the video), and his frantic scribbling at one point represents him trying to finish the album and play before cancer takes him. And of course, he backs into that big armoire, closing the door behind him. Just imagine, filming a representation of your own death. So incredibly intense. I listened to it last night at the end of a long night of playing Bowie albums, and it was hard. He did not shy away from reality in his art.

Think about Queen's Innuendo with the title track being released a couple of days before Freddie's passing. And all the material that was later released on Made In Heaven.

There's this fantastic and really heartwrenching documentary Freddie Mercury Lover of life singer of songs, where Brian May recalls recording it in Switzerland. Listening to Mother Love from Made In Heaven with last verses sung by Brian because Freddie coulnd't make it is for me always extremely sad and painful.

Cool, thanks for sharing When I saw the video clip of him holding the sax and then twirling it or something that kind of tipped me off that perhaps he had played it because he had this body language that only sax players have that really can't be imitated by those who use it as a prop in TV and movies.

"Yup - well documented that Bowie was at Paisley Park and that was after Prince attended one of Bowie's shows in Minneapolis (sat at the sound - desk no less, which is the best place to hear a gig usually, so he was certainly paying full attention!). It would seem highly likely that having such a fantastic artist as Bowie in Prince's studio complex would result in them at least jamming and recording, if not writing whole new tracks (Bowie is known to work as fast as Prince - he reportedly wrote Life on Mars in an afternoon and Under Pressure was written and recorded similarly quickly whilst on a cocaine and wine binge with Freddie Mercury!). Prince does seem to do this with a lot of musicians who are invited to Paisley (even Dave Grohl), so why not Bowie?" Written By Mindflux

I just saw their live performance of Tonight a few days ago, and I feel the same way. You can see they really love each other.

Thanks for the pics! I recognize the first pic as having David Bowie, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Slash and Bonnie Raight but who's the black guy next to Slash? I think I've seen his face before but don't know his name.
