Have you heard Mike's demos of BJ, Beat It, WBSS, etc? Very little diiference in the final cut. The question should be: Try imagining MJ without Motown25? That's when the world went crazy - glitter glove, socks, fedora, and dance, esp. moonwalk... unless Quincy taught him how to dance. Quincy didn't even want BJ included. Then there would have been no BJ Motown25 performance... no world hysteria. End Of Story. [Edited 3/18/14 17:16pm] [Edited 3/18/14 17:16pm]

He's emulating Thriller era Michael, a quite goodspeaking voice impersonation I'll give him that, but I sincerly doubt he's the child of Michael Jackson. He doesn't look like him to me (looks aren't solid evidence however some people keep saying he's the spit of MJ), other than the hair and wide-white-toothy smile with sunglasses thang. But then again Michael had already tweaked his appearence by Thriller with a couple or three nose jobs and shaped brows. I would put money on this being a big publicity stunt more than the long lost hidden son. Michael Jackson is a mystery however, so this probably won't be the last 'hidden child', B.Howard is what? Number 38331? MJ was a busy man.

I'm not gonna do a whole lot of talking
I've said time after time after time that the image MJ projected to the world post-Thriller was false, it was never real....that peter pan image was all calculated, it was never ever real
for the past 27 years, the world has never laid eyes on the real Michael Jackson, the underlying contradiction of this entire experience
we gone learn though and quick or as MJ put it "we ain't seen nothin yet"

It's not that I'm a crazed fan not wanting to see their favorite popstar have something about him I didn't know about. What gal MJ fan wouldn't want MJ to have a son in their age range? (just kidding MJ you're the one in my heart ) But I don't think this guy is it... I might be proved wrong someday who knows? But I doubt it. Even Corey didn't believe it, but suddenly now he's in on it too.
The mystery could be solved if they did a DNA test with what is listed as his biological father, instead of an old tooth mold or whatever it was that they used of Michael's. But then again, if it turns out that Augie is actually the dad what's left to milk?

Did anyone hear the full Hollywood Tonight demo? It leaked a few weeks ago. I actually didn't mind the Teddy Riley version too much, but man... the demo is just proof-positive of MJ's understanding of his art. The demo absolutely kills the "finished" version. Dark and danceable, sort of a blend between Billie Jean and Who Is It. So many elements that make the song that much better. Teddy Riley took too many liberties when the demo was full of everything he needed to make the song complete.

[Edited 3/22/14 18:15pm] I have my doubts about the paternity but the problem with the Brandon case is that he did actually spend a lot of time around the Jacksons as he was growing up. Also his mother, Miki Howard, is not exactly forth coming about who the father is. She keeps on stating she has a NDA and therefore can not say much. The whole thing is not exactly clear cut.

He would have easily found a great producer to work with.In those days,we had no shortage of amazing producers that MJ could have worked with......Narada Michael Walden,Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards (like you mentioned),Richard Perry,Maurice White...hell,Mike could have decided to get really funky and work with someone like Rick James or Larry Blackmon, lol.

[Edited 3/18/14 17:16pm] [Edited 3/18/14 17:16pm] Does anybody have any reasonably solid evidence that Quincy didn't want Billie Jean on the album? By which I mean, a guy who was actually there in the studio saying that was the case? Q denied it in his autobiography, and Rod Temperton stated in the Thriller 2001 SE interviews that "we all knew from the beginning that it was going to be a cornerstone of the album." Until I hear something to convince me otherwise, I'm putting that one down as an MJ fanbase myth.

FINALLY.....somebody challenged the narrative....
I love it
when THRILLER was actually making its historic run, there was not one story mentioned that Quincy did not want Billie Jean on the record
that's a narrative cooked up by those who do not want Quincy to continue receiving his props for the contribution of history being made....

I thought the only issues Quincy had with Billie Jean was that the intro was too long and that the title should have been changed to Not My Lover to avoid confusion with the tennis legend.

what u said was the accurate account

Quincy asked MJ to come up with a rock sounding song.. it is true "Beat It" was born because of the "request" of Q, but then MJ came up with the lyrics and the arrangement (I wonder if he came up with the guitar riff also?).. So 80% of the props go to MJ.
If MJ never worked with Quincy during Thriller recording sessions? It'll be at least more person al, I know the result is great (Thriller is a great work musically) but I like Bad because MJ wrote almost everything and had his touch on every song.. Dirty Diana, Smooth Criminal, all these songs were MJ and nobody else, you could feel him. Other 'blockbuster' songs from Thriller, I feel like MJ signed a contract to land his vocals on any song Quincy & Rod came up with... It wasn't personal, it was just an attempt to create something appealing and "fast".

The issue Quincy had with that song is he wanted it to be called Not My Lover instead of Billie Jean.
