I am calmed and I dont have to respect a persons opinion who clearly makes judgements on music they have NEVER heard. What kind of shit is that? KCOOL boosts Prince and compares him ALL the time to Michael in these discussions. He purposely instigates people to cuss him out.
On Quincy?
I am not tripping off of anything that senile man says.

I don't agree with quincy's senile comments and decisions about music from the past few years, but to say he was nothing without mj is pretty dumb, even from mj fans. However, referring to mj as a "lie" for the past 25 years is stupid and insensitive, I would go far as to even say offensive. If you don't like what his crossover appeal resulted in post thriller on an artistic level, or "don't like" his skin disorder, that's about you, not him. [Edited 9/28/12 18:14pm]

for me, this is Michael Jackson's most profound moment on television of his career after THRILLER
http://www.youtube.com/wa...ure=fvwrel
I already loved HEAL THE WORLD the day after I purchased the DANGEROUS album upon release
the univeral message always resonated with me.....from him and J5, and the music I listened to while growing up as kid in the mid 70s up until the mid 80s from other great artists, always moved me to embrace the possibility that this world could be a better place one day
KEEP THE FAITH was another favorite song of mine on Dangerous as well as GONE TOO SOON
When Mike raised that candle in the air sparking and all
and when the stadium hoisted those placards in front of them and turned them towards the camera revealing showing a mural of children from around the globe holding each other's hand
that brought a tear to my eye, that was extra special......that took tremendous planning to pull that off
oh, and during that segment, right before Michael started performing the song, he spoke in his REAL VOICE, which I always knew was there somewhere, the high pitched voice he spoke with for years was stage, it was to project the public persona he wanted to craft for himself.....
what I'm saying is....THE MESSAGE was never the problem......I always loved it and still do, for I've listened to his music as a solo artist since it began
the message was real, it was genuine, it was legit
the problem is what took place w/the messenger of his own message after he reached the very pinnacle of music after THRILLER, where the message was undermined.......
what i'm saying is, when you crossover to the realm of full scale pop, eventually you double cross yourself, even when you had great intentions in the beginning.....
this is what happened to Michael Jackson when he fully transformed himself
what i'm saying is, just imagine what this man could have achieved if he had remained visibly black and would never have blurred his real identity, and dawned "the mask" for 25 years
because that's what he did
from the foundation that was established for him, and the audience he had gained with THRILLER, made possible by the initial support he received from his original following when he debuted on ED SULLIVAN in 1969
BAD would have outsold THRILLER, and all of his subsequent albums would have sold more than they already did
do you know why he "chose" to perform at the 1993 SuperBowl?
it was the same reason why he made all of those public appearances towards the beginning of 1993, appearing at the 93 Grammy Awards to receive the legend's award from his sister Janet, when he appeared on the 1993 NCAAP Image Awards where he received the Humanatarian Award,
Why the JACKSON'S: THE AMERICAN DREAM was released towards the end of 1992
and most apparent, why he contacted OPRAH WINFREY to give a feature length interview for the first time since the days of OFF THE WALL, the interview shown worldwide......
the reason why he did all of that?.....TO REGAIN THE AUDIENCE HE KNEW HE HAD LOST here in the United States......
see, no matter how vast his support was internationally, the foundation that was established years before made that possible, and he lost that by the end of the 1980s
did you know by the spring of 1992, right around the time the single for JAM was released, that DANGEROUS was not even charting on the Billboard top 100, falling as low as 126th
even w/the video he released to promote the song, a video featuring Michael Jordan, Heavy D, and Kris Kross, he couldn't regain the support of the original following and the millions who bought THRILLER, that's how precarious his career became in his own country, but his international fans didn't know it
so by the end of 1992, while completing that initial as he kicked off the opening leg of the Dangerous Tour, he went about the effort of regaining that audience......
so see, this isn't about one person disliking him or have a bone to pick,
this was a spiritual component to all of this......because his transformation conflicted w/the universal intent which intended for him to represent his talent in the fullness of who he was meant to be naturally
for there is no single individual who should be viewed as the enemy, for the real enemy is the lie itself
see, the majority of his following wants the message to be accepted on THEIR terms not realizing how he undermined his own message

Oh and all this talk about Quincy being "old" and senile
what's good for the goose is good for the gander
I would suggest to realize we all grow old, but it should be taken as a badge of honor
I hope I reach 80 in my lifetime
I'm sure Quincy can deliver the greatest commentar about the history of music of the modern age during that past 50 years, a period he's seen evolved from beginning to end.....
He has earned more grammy awards than anyone ever associated with music
http://www.youtube.com/wa...lw1gibNZxk
this due was rich in the understanding of culture...and it reflected in his ability to produce the best music possible..

yes, you are a psychic for knowing his voice, hats up, he already sang deep years before that too you know so it doesn't surprise me
I don't agree with how quincy acts though I don't discredit him either for his accomplishments before and after working with michael, but he is senile and it's reality. He switches what he says all the time you know, and there's nothing wrong with it, except for the fact people buy that bullshit that sells and makes headlines. I could sit here and tell you he is showing early signs of dementia and obsess over it all day, but I choose not to, catch my drift? [Edited 9/29/12 8:46am]

this situation regarding Michael Jackson over the past 25 years extends beyond anything Quincy Jones is believed to have said that would be considered detrimental or one turning his back......
this is a story about a man who's humanity was shredded because of an insatiable need to attain the pop stratosphere, the ultimate pop distinction, the "king of pop" mantle, and the forces that drove him to attain it, which consisted of a superficial environment that shaped his self image and geared him to moving beyond his real identity, culture, and racial identity........
I found this clip earlier today, a British review that was aired the day right after BAD was released in August 31st 1987
two white men called this situation out for exactly what it was, showing more concern about his humanity rather than the entertainment value
and as the one guy, the main participant of the show, mentioned Michael's greatness and pointed the fact Michael owed nothing because he had already given everything he could even then, and hoped that his livelihood and career would end tragically (which it did)
the last guy mentioned how Michael would eventually destroy himself, as loved ones were cut off from communicating with him, he focused on humanity more than the entertainment value......
the alarm bells were ringing the day that album was released........
http://www.youtube.com/wa...ure=relmfu
the same thing these guys were alluding is what Quincy Jones has tried to express time and time again when it became apparent Michael's career was ending.......
there will come a day where everyone will ackowledge the situation for what it is and the madness will finally end.....and THEN we can focus on the music and the great intentions Michael initially desired to convey before he was robbed of his essential goodness

The "King of pop' wasn't a name that was given to him. It was a name that he gave to himself. To me that was the beginning of the end for him. U don't name yourself the "King of Pop" He was starting to believe his own hype & that ultimately destroyed him in the process. He had no middle ground anymore. Until he got his kids. That "Black & White video was the start of a life of turmoil for MJ when he was heavily criticized for grabbing himself in it. It was even counted how many times he did it & had to be edited. That was sad to me. Because it proved he couldn't do anything anymore without being scrutinized for it.
I'm glad Prince found peace within himself before it was too late.Even he said it was so much noise around him until he met Mr.Graham. Now he is at peace with himself & believes that is the reason he is still here. Now MJ & Whitney can finally be @ peace.

That is NOT true he NEVER called himself the King of Pop. Elizabeth Taylor GAVE him that titled at an Award Show and from then on people called him the King of Pop.

And that's just it. Bottom line. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

It certainly doesn't impress me by default. It depends on the instrumentalist's actual output, 'cause all of that condescending "real musician" tripe is meaningless when the compositions are garbage. I believe you're referring to the statement she made during the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards
http://www.youtube.com/wa...BvBOAm8JVg
where she "she didn't say" KING OF POP.....but KING OF POP, ROCK, AND SOUL
so you see, she didn't coin that phrase....
where it really came from?...
As Michael was conducting the opening leg of the BAD tour,
He went to his PR manager BOB JONES.....Jones, who worked for Michael since the 1970s.....
was approached by Michael...Michael confided in him that he wanted a signature distinction that would rival that of Elvis Presley and Bruce Springsteen, as we all know how Elvis was viewed as THE KING OF ROCK N ROLL and Springsteen was better known as THE BOSS
so Michael wanted his own brand distinction....
Bob Jones came up w/the KING OF POP, ROCK, AND SOUL.....
but Michael no longer sought to be associated w/r&b distinction
so Jones shortened the phrase and came up with KING OF POP for Michael
if you notice, that's when you would see people hoisting up the banners "king of pop" when Michael as performed the european leg of the Bad Tour in 1988
that was no coincidence.....
so by the time 1989 arrived, that's when the annual award shows take place......
and that's when you heard Liz say that phrase when presenting Michael w/that Heritage award at the Soul Train Awards......
I doubt very seriously that she was off into music like that, she just went along for the ride.....
then as Michael sought international presence exclusively, right before releasing Dangerous, that's when he had his representatives contact MTV and inform the network they shoudl begin referring to Michael as THE KING OF POP publically, and that's it became public record, and the rest they say is history....
so BOB JONES came up w/the term because of Michael's request.....

Q's hypocrisy first emerged about 10 years ago. I remember him mouthing off about never knowing Michael on a personal level and only knowing the music, which was complete bullshit as Michael had previously been referred to as like a son to him, and Michael was good friends with Kidada.
He totally lost me when he started mouthing off about witnessing brain surgeries in Sweden for no reason other than to brag about whatever when it had no relation to anything he was supposed to be speaking about. Half the time I hear him speak he's like some coked up idiot without a hint of humility.

It doesnt matter that was the phrase that she coined and from then on fans were referring to him as that EVEN the media. All that other shit isnt true with how the phrase originally got started. Elizabeth Taylor was the FIRST person to ever PUBLICLY acknowledge him as the King of anything.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
so she was the first person to acknowledge the degree of his talent...so the first 20 years doesn't count right?......
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I've seen footage of Bad tour concerts with fans holding up King of Pop signs, and that was just a bit before Elizabeth Taylor said it. I don't know what any of that has to do with Quincy Jones being a senile prick though.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That statement was made to correct KCOOL inaccurate remarks that Michael was the first to start that phrase. He has NEVER publicly out HIS MOUTH or written down in words to be the king of anything.
and Lastly ANYTHING you say has no meaning because you talk alot of bullshit and you purposely twist things resulting to insulting Michael.
Once again, you have yet to acknowledge Quincys hyprocritical remarks and please dont comment back with a long ass rant that bashes and sabotages Michaels character when this thread is not about that.
Please act like an intelligent man, you know exactly what people are referring to when they call Quincy hyprocritical and senile.
It is not right to insist that you are someones friend and then once they pass make mean and nasty comments about them.

Scorpio hates Michael Jackson and blames EVERYTHING on Michael.... NOBODY is at fault or wrong... so he loves to bash him. NONE of that has nothing to do with the thread in all honesty
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
to the contrary, I don't hate anybody......
I simply said where the phrase actually came from......
I listen to Michael's music every day.....there's nothing to prove....

Yes you do because you havent acknowledge Quincys fault but you LOVE always pointing out why MJ is so wrong at ANYTHING when Quincy is clearly wrong here.
Sure you listen to MJ every day
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Like I say, I have nothing to prove, that's where assumption gets people in trouble, because when they do, they set themselves up for the okie doke.....
who's REALLY at fault, who's never been called out, and who's left the scene years ago when they saw they had a freight train on their hands ready to crash into the proverbial brick wall, they got outta dodge w/out a trace in sight.....real life "smooth criminals"....
those who led this guy to move beyond his natural being......they are in real fault by default, and should have tried for a crime against humanity
do you know why Michael Jackson said in late 2001 when he made that public statement at Al Sharpton's Nationl Action Network fighting for the rights of performers....
do you know why Michael made the statement "the record companies really do try and take away from the artists"..
do you know why he said that, or better yet, what he was referring to?

because
1.)....he's not a senile prick.....he seems to do an interview at least once a month and his mind travels back some 50 plus years to explain how music was during that time and how his career began....if he was senile, he couldn't recall any of that....
2.)....we all need to chill out on the namecalling because we all will grow old one day
3.)....Chinese culture has traditionally revered their seniors rather than chopping them down (which is why they are on the verge of pulling the rug from under America)
4.).....Elizabeth Taylor never coined that phrase......if you saw people holding up those banners before she said it publically, that means she didn't create the phrase......she went along for the ride...

What the fuck are you talking about? That has NOTHING to do with Quincys comments in this thread.
You want to talk about this other shit that has NOTHING to do with the comments Q made in THIS thread and I notice you delusionally and immaturely choose to ignore Q's obvious hyprocritical remarks and talk about other made up shit just to prove your irrelevant points even more.
And you dont have to prove anything to me... your not a REAL fan at all and you constantly demonstrate that within EVERY post that you insult, bash and NEVER talk about how people treated Michael like in this thread for example with how you foolishly insist that Q has a right to be nasty to MJ, your fuckin nuts.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
that rant meant absolutely nothing to me.....personal attacks, I'm totally immune to it....
that's the beautiful result of all of this.....we get to see who's who and who's not.....
who in the world can't use curse words....or shoot off profanity laced tirades........thinking they got the upper hand but really don't......
ANYONE can do that one....
since you don't want to answer the question maybe someone else will
what was the reason Michael made that statement in 2001 when he said "the record companies really do try and take from the artists".....
and more importantly, what was he referring to?

Neither does any of your rants mean anything and I have not personally attacked you. I am calling it how it is.. YOU ARE ACTING IMMATURE. I asked you a question related to the thread and you constantly have chose to ignore answering it
Why would ANYONE want to answer that question when it has NOTHING to do with this thread and Quincy comments?
and Hell NO I am not going to answer your question when I ASKED YOU A QUESTION related to THIS THREAD that you deliberately choose to IGNORE.
I asked you now about 3 times and you still choose not to answer BUT instead insist on bashing Michael Jackson, insulting his character and talking about his career when this thread is not about that.
Yea we do know whose who... we know you are NUTS and pressed on bashing Michael when this thread is NOT about him or has anything to do with Quincy comments.
And then had the audacity to insist that you listen to him everyday..... [Edited 9/29/12 18:42pm]

Maybe he's not senile, but he has about as much class as Sharon Osbourne. Could anyone imagine Clive Davis talking shit about Whitney whenever asked? I think he's voiced concern over her troubles before but never outwardly insulted her in public.
I honestly think Q is bitter mostly for the fact that yes, he is a legend of music and has done a thousand other things, but each time for the last 30 years over and over again, he's asked about Michael Jackson. The level of success and the way it blew up on a global scale was like nothing he'd ever seen or done before.
Ask the average living music fan to name a name associated with Quincy Jones and 9 out of 10 times they'd say Michael Jackson first.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Agree.
I still think he is senile and he is definitly classless. Its disrespectful how he has treated Michael since his passing and especially since he insisted that Michael was family and like his brother. He acts as if he did EVERYTHING and that working with him was the worse thing in the world.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I won't even stoop down to that level of vitriol.....I aint gotta resort to base level.......
that doesn't impress me at all............
I could totally embarass you if I really wanted, but why waste my time with that, that would be pre-school fluff...
do you really think you're calling me out by calling me senile?...is that the best you got?...
do you really think what you just said holds any water w/me......
you just waisted a minute of your time coming up w/that.......
and this is why I say, which has been proven time and time again.......
see, when Michael Jackson was visibly black, there was no distinction between old (or senile as you try and call it) fanbase and new fanbase....it was all one.....
wasn't no bashing going on...............because it wasn't any need to.....because it was really about the music
the day he chose to (by god awful advice) to move beyond who he really was, then that's when all hell broke loose, and cultivated hostility along the way.......
if you think you're going to rile me up, you have to come up w/something waaaaaaaaay better than what you just did.....

BUT YOU DELETED THAT.....aw okay.......that's the way it goes down huh?

What are you talking about?
I am not trying to do anything to you.
I was trying to get you to understand a point and asked you a question. I asked you now for the 5th time....... how come you do not want to acknowledge Quincy hyprocritical comments toward Michael????? and I even gave you an example I said... its not right when someone calls someone a brother like Quincy did toward Michael and then insists that they were difficult to work with and that they took chemical peels when their autospy insisted they had Vitiligo..
Its not right because it comes off as phoney and fake because he is now saying all these things now that MJ has passed. All I asked was if you saw that point and why havent you acknowledge that and instead acknowledge other things that has nothing to do with the thread???
Thats ALL I aked but you havent responded and just have ignored me multiple posts down.
I asked you a question multiple of times that you made up in your mind you dont want to answer but oddly want to ask questions and expect for people to answer them?
Yea I did call you senile because that is how you are acting... you are acting densed and like you cant comprehend what I asked and pointed out to you.
