Wow, what interesting questions… If you had one of the very few TV interviews Madonna is granting to promote her album, wouldn't you have tried to come up with something a little more intriguing or revelatory?

I don't think this rumored setlist will be the final setlist. I don't see how a sixties section will flow from a transgression section. And B'Day doesn't fit. Also, La Isla Bonita just has to go. And Justify My Love in a Tango section?! Also, this setlist leaves out Some Girls which someone recorded a snippet of during tour rehearsals and put on Youtube. I posted it above. This definitely ain't the definitive tour setlist. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Not saying I believe this is the setlist but...
1. B'Day Song is very beach music-esque to me 2. She's performed either La Isla Bonita, Holiday, or both on every tour. What makes this one different? 3. That snippet is clearly fake

It isn't that I don't like La Isla Bonita but I burnt out on it years ago and there are songs I (and a LOT of people) would much rather hear in this concert. I am really happy that it seems she will be performing several songs from the new album. Also, I like B'Day more than a lot of people but it wouldn't be my choice as part of this concert. I really want to hear I'm Addicted, Gang Bang, I'm A Sinner, and Falling Free performed live. Do you really think the snippet is fake? If so, why? I guess it fooled me--but then I've been out of Madonna-land for a lot of years. Ironically, I liked the "live" snippet better than the album version. La Isla Bonita is one of her signature songs that still gets a lot of airplay and people who aren't fans but like her usually cite that song, so it's a smart choice to include it, as long as she doesn't mix it up with another song and ruin it like before.
Did you know it was originally written for MJ for the Bad album and he turned it down ? The writers talked about it a few years ago and dissed him!

No, I didn't know that. But I recently read that Madonna and MJ wanted to do a song together--Out of the Closet--and Madonna had some problems with doing that song. Is this true or just BS? In The Closet. And yes, it's true. But it was more MJ having problems. They went to their seperate corners with the title and came up with their own lyrics/concepts for the song. Madonna wanted it to reflect the obvious connotations of that title and MJ wanted it to be a more generic "secret love" song, which is what was released with Princess Stephanie on vocals credited as "Mystery Girl" to possibly perpetuate the rumor that it was still Madonna.
So they didn't end up recording. Might be very interesting at some point if Madonna still has her lyrics to record them for a posthumous duet/remix.

Wow. That's really enlightening. I never knew that. I can see how MJ didn't want to have it reflect on his personal life (in the way every song he ever sang under the spotlight has been personally interpreted!). But, I can also see why Madonna would want to take the song "out of the closet" for obvious reasons. And, yes, I would be very interested in hearing how a Madonna and Michael duet might sound with her lyrics. Not that it would happen in the real world! It might turn out to be a dud the way Prince's collaboration with Madonna did (in my opinion). I bet he got a real princess on the track to rub it in Madonna's face she also wanted them to dress in drag for the video and he didn't agree
Anyways I loved 4 minutes to save the world, song and video and kept thinking OMG what if the MJ and Madonna duet sounded like that? It actually made me sad cause it made me miss michael so much as if he wasn't active and despite Thriller 25 being a release. I already felt upset about everything that happened with him and missed him.
I found this online, enjoy!

not to disclose the identity of "mysterious girl" was a condition of Princess Stephanie of Monaco ... the lyrics quite frank. Have a real royal lady in the song is much more prestigious than another artist.

eh, I dunno. certainly got the song less attention than had it been Madonna.

Two huge stars is not always a great success.

I think the real problem was thatMichael got really close to Madonna during the heigh of her dirty/bitchiness. If the year was, say 1987 things would have been very different.

Perhaps the idea Madonna was bringing to the table would have givin it the IT factor. The song as it is though is quite unremarkable to me.
Yeah imagine MJ on True Blur or Madonna on Bad. That could have been something very big. I can't really blame Michael being weary of collaborating with her in the height of her Dita phase.

UK music retailer HMV revealed the design of their landmark 300th "My Inspiration" poster - graced by the original Queen of pop herself, Madonna! The "My Inspiration" campaign began in 2006 when David Bowie selected a line from Syd Barrett's 'Gigolo Aunt' as his inspiration, and since then many of our greatest artists ranging from Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan to Beyonce and Lady Gaga have taken part.
Madonna - who recently secured her 12th UK no.1 album with 'MDNA' - is the 300th artist to participate, and was especially invited by way of celebrating this special landmark. For her poster, she revealed Patti Smith's acclaimed recording of "Gloria" - featured on her 1975 debut album 'Horses' - as one of her key musical inspirations and influences. Along with the Patti Smith lyric choice, Madonna's 'my inspiration' artwork features the celebrated photography of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
Madonna particularly cites the song's memorable opening lyric "Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine", which Patti Smith added as part of a radical punk reworking of the original version written by Van Morrison in 1964 when he was with the band Them. Madonna selected the lyric/song when recently invited to take part in HMV's my inspiration campaign - where iconic artists and cutting-edge new talent are asked to share with fans the music or text that has most inspired them in their lives and in their recording careers.

Madonna Rehearses For ’2012 World Tour’
Say what you will about Madonna, but there is no denying her work ethic. For, as these snaps are a testament to, very few can match the effort the ‘Material Girl‘ puts into her live shows, even after three decades. Shot balancing on a tight rope, these pics arrive days before the release of her new LP ‘MDNA’, out March 26th.

I've refrained from writing my review the past few weeks but here it is...
I tried getting into MDNA and I can't. Something about it is off, it's easily her worst studio album, and it's extremely childish. It's like a 53 year old woman singing Miley Cyrus material. For the ever-trendsetting Madonna this effort here is lackluster and 'reductive.' Can we get something in the vain of Ray Of Light?
