You know how you said Hung Up was her best lead off of recent memory. What was her all time best first single from an LP in your humble opinion?
I'm gonna say "Music" or "Secret." "Erotica" took years to appreciate, for me (the title track). I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I think my favourite lead single is Like a Prayer - perfect introduction to that album! Then Frozen, then Secret

"Secret" isn't such an obvious one, especially at the time, and with that video.
"Hung Up," "Music," "Like A Prayer" and "Like a Virgin" are her best lead singles.
often, songs like "Erotica," "Secret," "Frozen," "American Life," and "4 Minutes" are used more to set the tone for whatever the new phase is, whether it's the sound, the image, or the themes she's exploring.

Big improvement over the first single. Nothing interesting going on in the lyric, but some solid hooks.

All i remember was the excitement of hearing "Secret" the first time when I bought the cassette single (hadn't heard on the radio and the video wasn't out yet)...
That song was just...SO KILLER. The vocal production, the smoothness - i don't think she's done anything that smooth before or since. It was so ridiculously ... great - the hook, the lyrics, the structure. I have never to this day been thrilled by a lead single (minus "Got Til It's Gone") the way "Secret" did. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

You think so? I liked the first one over this one. I want more...and I know that she can deliver. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

"Yes, I was, uh... I was thinking about ordering the tape, the videotape...about the college girls and the... the wild... the wildness. They're going wild or something? Somebody told me... about going wild. "

Definitely. I thought the first one was really lame.

Secret was a definitive track for her, and I wish it had hit #1. It had an aura of warmth that was all-pervasive and truly defined Bedtime Stories. Really, the perfect antidote to the cold sterility of the Erotica LP.

So you like Bedtime Stories, not Erotica?
Them's my two faves, always go back n forth. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I actually love the entire Erotica album--IMO although her voice has a certain cold edge the lyrics and music don't... I thought it was just the right balance with her voice and the great songs on this LP. I love both! Perfect companion albums. I just meant that Bedtime Stories helped rehabilitate her public image by virtue of its contrast to Erotica.

I agree, just having heard the two recently...that's why the two new singles grate against those albums like fingernails on chalkboard! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Oh, ok. Coolness...
I always feel like the critical acclaim, grammy nominations, that were/are heaped all over ROL and Music albums should have gone to "E" and "BS"... I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I agree. I love ROL but am not really a big fan of Music, which has a few great tracks and some good ones but doesn't feel like a fully formed album compared to its predecessors.

Sounds better than LUV, and it sounds like something Rihanna would record, so yea a hit...

Listen to Justin Cognito Remix, not a great mix, almost like an alternate version, but I think it's slightly better than the album version...

Miles better than the 1st single.

The opening and the chorus are really killer, but the verses are a tad bit flimsy. I like GMAYL alot better. None the less, I can't wait to see this live in november! 2012: The Queen Returns

I prefer the remix of this song...
I agree with RKJCNE... Verses are bit lame, the beat is not very strong in the verses... too bad.
I hope Madonna doesn't disappoint with this album.. I got the feeling this album will maybe be her worst ever...

The exclusive 17th track on the MDNA Delux Edition will be a Benny Benassi produced song called "BEST FRIENDS"
"Best Friend" is a brand new song co-produced by Benny Benassi and it will be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition of the new record.
The physical release of the "MDNA" Deluxe Edition will be a 2 CD set. Disc One will be the same of the Standard edition, and the bonus tracks will be available on Disc Two. Overall, 5 songs in the new album are produced by William Orbit, and 7 tracks are signed by Martin Solveig. There have been small tweaks in both the song titles and the tracklist, the latter does not appear exactly as the one listed in the pre-order page on iTunes. "Girl Gone Wild" is now listed with the new title, but more importantly there has been a swap between two songs in the Standard and Deluxe edition. "B-day Song" will now be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition. Please note that the song does include a featuring by "M.I.A.". On the other hand, "Love Spent" leaves the tracklist of the Deluxe Edition to join that of the Standard release. The tracklist is still considered subject to change as manufacturing of the physical release has not started yet, leaving a window open to last minute changes. When is Madonna going to produce a song all by herself? At least janet did do that & it turned in2 a hit to... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I don't get all the non stop kissing "Music"'s ass on the part of the critics especially. Feels very half baked, though the first two songs are classics. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me
