C'mon, you actually think Whitney would marry him. Michael wasn't even her type.

Chile, please...
There's a difference between crushing on someone and being in love with someone. Michael crushed on a lot of women. And I've seen the way Michael looked at Whitney. He was obviously checking her out. And who knows, maybe Nippy had a little crush on him too. But for intents and purposes, we have no evidence to indicate that either he or she ever had a romantic relationship. We know they loved each other like siblings though.
I'm pretty sure if Michael wanted Whitney, he could've had Whitney. He got Lisa Marie, and she was married at the time he started persuing her. Whitney could've started a relationship with Michael if she wanted to as well. She was a very direct woman, and not afraid of getting what she wants. She also would've mentioned having a small crush on Michael in her last interviews if that were true. It's not like she had to hide it or anything.
Personally, I think they could've had a nice relationship, but their personalities differed too much for them to have a stable long term marriage/relationship. Hence why I think they remained friends and that Gest is talking out of his ass.
I don't believe he ever caught them playing checkers together, let alone "passionatly kissing". He really needs to sit his ass all the way down. The salvation of man is through love and in love. - Dr. V. Frankl

^ Thank you.
Plus both of them came from famous families and neither felt like they were really kids (both of them were working professionally at 11) because they had been in the business (and singing) for a long time.
Plus Whitney ALREADY had dated a Jackson anyways (Jermaine) so Michael didn't want his brother's leftovers (not dogging Whitney but Jermaine was wrong for that since he was still married lol).
I also think Whitney and Michael just wanted to be friends too and they remained so until Michael died.
Fun fact though about Michael and Whitney: Whitney was Michael's first choice to duet with on "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", you could tell Siedah was singing in what could've been Whitney's place.

I got you but yeah Whitney and Michael would've been a NO NO lol Whitney knew what kind of man she wanted and it wasn't Michael.

You got that right .. she fit more with claymation anyway.

Yeah prescription drugs weren't her kind of thing [Edited 2/26/12 18:00pm]
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well she did admit that she had used prescription pills as recreation in her Diane interview but other than that, their relationship would've been a mismatch. Just as much as Michael and Lisa Marie was. Just because the both of them shared famous family traits and were in a sense child prodigies does not always mean they would make a perfect pair, though it would've looked good on paper.

Why do you keep posting such pretentious phrases like that? Reality check: You are not a middle-aged Black woman from Detroit. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Gest has spread fake stories about Michael in the past? I know it's his character to glamorize and exaggerrate, but to totally lie out of the blue? Who would be funding this random guy to do that? In my opinion, he's not interesting enough and has no weight in the business to have tabloids pay him for anything, and he speaks out on his own accord, to actually help Michael's image, seemingly. But I could be wrong, who knows. I've just always loved the idea of Michael and Whitney being together, and always suspected they did indeed somewhat admire/desire each other secretly around 1987-88 (with Whitney later being distracted by that blasted Bobby Brown .... ). And Whitney wasn't distracted by Bad Boy Bobby Brown.

Now that I don't believe. With HER mother around, and her upbringing? Bad taste in men or not, Whitney wouldn't have had an affair with a married man. Going to dinner to celebrate the songs her wrote for her first album is one thing. Romance is another. But again, that's my perspective. Well Whitney was not perfect either. She made some mistakes. I believed her though when she said she didn't know about love until she met Bobby. She was crazy for him. Some say she did it to prove she wasn't gay or at least bisexual but I also believe she may have loved Bobby and pursued him rather than the other way around - as it's always presumed.

Of all of I've said, you choose to pick on how I speak? Really? Alright then...
I'm not trying to be pretentious or anything, and I know who I am. You don't. I had an opinion, and I expressed it.
That is all.

Yes, considering trite remarks like "chile, please" and "sit down" stand out in wanna-be hardcore responses loaded with affectation, such as the ones you post. And of course, you try to speak down at me against my opinion initially, and then become the victim when your own nonsense is thrown back at you, LOL. Where have I seen this before.... Sorry, but this statement is rubbish.
And you misunderstood me. I wasn't talking down at you. That was never my intention, honestly. If you percieved it that way, I apologize. But in all honesty, I was candidly countering your query, since you were wondering if there could be any truth to Gest's story about Michael and Whitney. I told why I think that man is unreliable.
But do you comment on that? No. You choose to pick nits. What you're looking for is a fight. And I'm sorry, but I won't indulge.

some one didnt have their facts right.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/adeles-21-has-outsold-michael-jacksons-746483
Shamon! Adele is badder than Michael Jackson (in a very good way) It must be noted that this story has nothing to do with Adele's ability to moonwalk or grab her crotch - although she's so brilliant, she can probably do that too Those Grammy and Brit Awards certainly are worth their weight in gold, in all senses. Since winning more than an armful of the toilet ornaments, Adele has shifted a load more of her album 21. So many more in fact that she can now officially say she’s beaten sales of Michael Jackson’s really quite successful Bad in the UK. 21 has now sold more than 4 million copies, which is 61,000 more than Bad, which is good – for Adele anyway. It has also shot back up to the number one position in the Albums Chart, making this its 21 time there – what numerical perfection, eh? It looks set to continue the march into history books too, with people continuing to hand over their pennies pounds for a copy. As it stands 21 is now the eighth biggest selling album of all time. Adele made her comeback at the Grammys and proved that her clever doc did a good job on the throat haemorrhage that was keeping her awesome voice from the world. She performed again at last week’s Brits where she won British Album of the Year and British Female Solo, after which HMV reported a 750 per cent increase in sales of 21. Adele seems pretty chuffed with her achievement too on the album too, telling this week’s OK! magazine: “Where it’s gone and where it’s taken me is just amazing. It seems to have done it all on its own as well. “I was halted by my voice problems but the record has just carried on, carried on walking without me.” Despite all the references to Adele’s music having actual legs and having a life of its own – this still doesn’t mean she’s allowed to pack it up and settle down with that boyfriend of hers. The top 10 biggest selling albums of all time 1 Queen - Greatest Hits (5,863,000) 2 The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (5,044,000) 3 Abba - Gold: Greatest Hits (4,989,000) 4 Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory (4,517,000) 5 Michael Jackson - Thriller (4,248,000) 6 Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms (4,152,000) 7 Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon (4,114,000) 8 Adele - 21 (4,020,000) 9 Michael Jackson - Bad (3,959,000) 10 Queen - Greatest Hits II (3,887,000)
so apperently bad only sold 4 million copies, and queens greatest hits is the biggest selling album of all time.

That's as far as U.K sales go. Queen's greatest hts isn't the biggest selling album of all time. Just in the U.K

There ain't that many people in the UK. That said, it's amazing Adele achieved what she did in such a short time. If the album stays on the charts throughout this year, it's not far off from reaching Queen's numbers. Michael remains the only act to have two albums in the UK top ten so that's still good on his part.

For many years in the UK, "Bad" outpaced "Thriller", which was probably largely due to his huge tour here (no UK "victory" tour LOL) and heck even "moonwalker" made it to cinema's too LOL.
It's amazing though how close "bad" and "thriller" are though. In the US, "Bad" is about 10x platinum vs 29x for "thriller". Thats nearly 3 times as many sales for "thriller". The dip is huge really.
I bet if MJ toured the world for "thriller" it would of got even bigger sales worldwide, but as he didn't, that made "bad" probably sell abit more as he was packing out outdoor stadiums for "bad" thanks to him not touring outside the states for many years.

The data on sales in the UK do not include club sales for albums from the catalog, de facto bad in the UK has sold more than a thriller. Bad has sold almost as much as Thriller in Europe, and in some large countries (Italy, Germany) even more.

Of course you would unwarrantably comment on this. But, defend what you relate to. That's to be expected here. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
