I miss Michael sad

I'm gonna buy tickets to the "Cirque Du Soleil" but it will be hard for me. Wish I was seeing MJ in the flesh instead. I know i'm gonna be crying during the show.

*Sigh*

This is the closest i'll ever get to seeing Michael tho so either way i'm looking forward to seeing the show. I've heard mixed reviews so far, but the video clips i've seen looked very promising.

"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

What do you guys think of Michael's bands soundwise?

Listening to bootlegs and video footage, the best IMO were the Destiny Tour, Triumph Tour, and Dangerous Tour bands. Bad was great too but certain songs were overtaken by synths

For me it has to be Dangerous, just wins out over the Triumph band.

And I'm talking the real Dangerous band, not the 2nd leg when Greg, David and Jennifer all bailed.

Great band, great sound, very tight. Excellent range of material and some stunning arrangements on this one. Plus no Sheryl screaming! Downsides are no live horns. The way they played everything from Jam thru Working Day and Night, and the earlier shows with Bad and TWYMMF. Best use of tech and instrumentation IMO. Best arrangements, and wonderful stretching out on WBSS, Thriller, WDAN, Bad.

Triumph is a close second due to 'Foot and the horn section. But no Greg, and a much more limited set in terms of style and arrangements. They were on fire but a much more limited show allround.

Victory was shit in comparison, Pat Leonard... plurleese!!! And the Thriller number arrangements were very poor. Definately a rush job.

Bad deserves a lot of credit as well. 2nd leg of course rather than the warm up in Japan/Aus. But we don't have much good evidence of this. All the boots are very poor except Rotterdam. Otherwise we just have the odd song here and there.

The so called recent "soundboard" from Rome is nothing of the sort - and that was the first show after a long break so not representative IMO. Of course this one had a ton of synths - Chris Currell madness and a lot of interesting arrangements for the new numbers. WYMMF kicked ass on this show. Often times it's deeply funky and there is plenty of stretching out by the band as well. Sheryl screaming didn't help. I'd say this one can't properly be judged until we have a decent boot or official release. Snippets are OK. but it's unfair to compare to the Live LP and Bucharest. It's my view that the musicality of the Bad tour band is massively overlooked. Although to be fair, I saw so many shows of that tour it could well be some rose tinted specs on my part.

Whilst I am ranting, does anyone know who played keys on the last Bad tour gig in LA in '89? Greg did NOT play this show, but i still can't track down who took his place on that gig.

You're right, the Rome leak isn't a soundboard recording, my mistake lol it's a rip from a VHS or beta tape and it sounds already mixed

Dangerous and Triumph along with Destiny are my favorites. the 88 leg of Bad was nice too although it had a lot of synth and of course, Sheryl screaming (although, the last show from the Bad Tour, the screaming actually worked especially with Billie Jean)

harbars, have you heard the "My Way" bootleg?

I recon that leak is most likely from video which was given to all the TV places back in the day - like what was used for the BBC "Wired" special and so forth to promote the tour at the time.

I have the "My Way" boot on vinyl and also one of the Turin show. It's decent, but audience of course (and no "encore"). Rotterdam is my personal fav in terms of sound q.

couple more plus points generally for the bad tour

  • band spotlight between thriller and WDAN whilst Mike was off stage taking on oxyegen or whatever. that could be deeeeeep funk!
  • much shorter "rests" between numbers than on dangerous

Rotterdam is a good one. My favorites are the London July 14 show, Liverpool, and Los Angeles

The European audiences during the tour were loving the Bad. The Dangerous Tour also. The minute Jam started, the crowd went into a frenzy

From 4 seconds???? Damn you, boy!

It sounds somewhat legit from the brief instance I heard. But I need the whole song. Bboy will clear this up.

Bruce's comments on Gearslutz - was this an interview or a post by Bruce - or was it someone repeating something they heard etc etc.

Just trying to clear up if this was something he actually said - or something attributed to him by someone else. Most of the guys who have worked with MJ in some way and have posted on Gearslutz were more than positive in their appraisal of the man.

Hard to tell anything from those snippets. But, "Face" is a real song. Outtake from the HIStory sessions. And there was a rumor recently that it might leak soon, but there's not enough in those snippets to tell if they are actually from that song.

It sounds fake to me, but I feel really stupid now for being fooled and not knowing anymore, as if I wasn't a real fan or something when I was at a point where it felt like he was my world.

they were posts by Bruce back in late 2007 or early 2008. He was posting there back then

FAKE

they were exposed some months ago. Some fans copy and pasted stuff together and said "I have the real song!" but they were quickly

Face IS a real song and it's from 1994 or 1995 BUT these fake snippets are not the song

May I jump in and ask for the names of any songs that have leaked (in full) since around last summer? The last one I've heard was (the supposedly fake) "Burn Tonight". I asked this question a few months ago, but I was ignored..

I would appreciate any help.

Last summer......a couple of songs leaked, either in full or snippets

Slave To The Rhythm

snippets of the original demo of Hollywood Tonight (dated maybe 1998-99)

snippets of People Of The World

snippets of I Am A Loser

snippets of Black Widow (fake)

Burn Tonight (fake)

Ready 2 Win (fake)

there were other songs (mostly stuff submitted by Eddie Cascio and James Porte) and honestly, NONE of them were anything to call home about lol

and the matter of HOW these were obtained.....let's just say afterwards, those people responsible got into BIG trouble....I'm talkin' JAIL trouble neutral

As much as I wanted to get mad, I just laughed cause it's such a stupid story, considering it was approved before the show. And those type of schools are too uptight anyways.

Yeah it definitely is. I have to admit that when I danced to MJ (I'm female), though grown, I felt funny about grabbing myself too and put my hand on my hip instead.
