I generally don't look at this thread, but since it's a fresh one:

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

just hitching my ride to the new thread.

And while I'm here:

Off the wall! Paris Jackson pulls some kooky poses as she leaves drama class - or maybe she's just getting into character?

By JODY THOMPSON

Their public outings used to involve odd disguises and scarves wrapped around their heads - but Michael Jackson's children looked like they were loving their more normal lifestyle yesterday.

The trio were seen looking smart in their red short-sleeved school shirts as they left their drama class last night - before Paris started larking about for the cameras.

The 13-year-old started jokingly sticking out her tongue before taking pictures herself with her iPhone.

What a Thriller! Paris Jackson was having fun and messing around with her brothers as they left their acting class in Hollywood yesterday

Off the scrawl: Prince had written a motivational message on his arm

With striking blue eyes, she looked healthy and tanned in her trendy white and red Converse sneakers and was wearing an identical pendant necklace to her brother Prince.

The pendant showed some kind of abstract almost flower-like pattern on it, but it's not clear what, if anything, it signifies.

Meanwhile her elder brother, 14-year-old Prince, had scrawled a message on his arm in pen.

He had written on his left lower arm: 'Live life free and without regrets, Freedom!'

Together with their long-haired brother Blanket, nine, the trio have been attending regular after-school acting classes.

Since their father died in June 2009, the Jackson family have been determined that the children live a more normal life and seem to be making a great success of their plan so far.

In February, the children gave an interview on U.S. television and said they even fancied following their late father into showbusiness.

Talking to Good Morning America, Paris said she was thinking of auditioning for a play.

Fun three: The Jackson children appear to have a healthy sense of humour

Prince however was a bit more vague about his career aspirations, saying simply: 'Continue what our dad was doing.'

The children are cared for by the Jackson clan matriarch Katherine, 80, who is trying to ensure they have a normal life as possible - meaning going to school and after-school clubs for the first time.

Their aunt La Toya, 54, is also playing a large part in their upbringing and said that they were thriving in their life now.

She said of her nephews and niece in March: ‘They have gone to school and they really like it, so I’m very happy for them. It’s taught them something totally different about people and life. They’re just enjoying themselves.’

Looks nothing like what the article claims. All I see is 'Freedom" along with "Life is a short..."

Sometimes I am very much reminded of why I choose to discuss Michael on a Prince forum.

I (unwittingly) got into the whole "debate" with a girl on Facebook. I wasn't even trying to hear it. I wasn't even debating with her! All I was saying was, everyone is entitled to a personal preference, my personal preference is that I love both Prince and MJ equally, but objectively and looking at all the perspectives, neither of them is "better" than the other because they both could have learned things from the way the other did it.

I quantified my statement by saying that I feel this way because I learn different things from both of them as I'm trying to be a well rounded artist myself. Both of them inspire me as singers and songwriters, Michael inspires me wth dancing, choreography and maintaining a strong visual presence and integrating theatrical aspects into live performances, and Prince inspires me as a producer, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader.

I wrote a really articulate, well-thought out response, and what do I get in response?

"I don't have time to read that, MJ is the best! So there".

Face-fucking-palm.

That type of shit is why I don't go on MJ forums much anymore. Too much shit like that.

I'm starting to discuss Michael away from both. Since I have you, Viintage, Vanilli, and others on Facebook, I can just talk with you guys there lol

You got so many dummies on Facebook (believe me I've seen proof of the dumbassery there). I don't get the hype of talking about him on there unless you're following reasonable folks (like you and bboy and NMusiqNSoul for example) who rather listen to what you gotta say...

Unholy, Timmy,

Because I'm a well-known artist.......I have all types of people on my friends list. Fans, other artists, fans of other artists who I may have collabed with at some stage, media people... and then a bunch of randoms as well.

In this case it was another artist... I'm actually about to do a 3-date UK tour with my band, there's a few other artists on the bill for all the dates and this person is one of them.

I didn't start the discussion. I literally just had a status update where I was a talking about being excited for the Prince gig in July that he's doing here in the the UK. That was it. Then aforementioned person decided to comment and turn it into an MJ discussion. Which I just don't fucking get at all. I make plenty of MJ status updates too. Why try and turn a Prince one into a pissing match when it's clearly fucking obvious that I love them both?

It seems like there is a section of people on both sides that can't possibly comprehend the fact that it's entirely possible to be a passionate fan of both and not have a preference for one over the other? They always gotta try and start some shit. I hate it.

Trying to push me on that topic is like asking me if I'd prefer to be stabbed in my left or right eye. Or trying to tell me that "everybody knows" I have better vision in one of them. Hell nah, my shit is 20/20 motherfuckers.

For whatever reason, it seems that "MJ only" fans are worse than "Prince only" fans in this regard. I've never had a Prince fan on my Facebook make a comment on an MJ status I've made and trying to make it about Prince for no apparent reason.

Stans like that make fan communities look ridiculous. How can you even have a real debate when someone acts ignorant when you're trying to have a classy discussion. Like you said they always wanna start some shit. I wouldn't worry about those fools anyway.

I've never understood that either, anyone who knows me well enough knows I'm a fan of both ....just like they know if you diss either one of them, they're gonna get de-friended

I have seen it both ways MJ fans going off about Prince and Prince fans going off about MJ. A friend of mine made a status about the editing of the Bucharest show and a friend of his out of the blue posted "MJ Sucks! Prince is the best!". Dude hijacked his whole status lol AND sent him a text some days later about it lol

then out of the blue, his friend posts that, then proceeded to argue with anyone who had a different opinion neutral

Some MJ fans are......excessive. I understand the want to defend him. everybody in this thread has done it, BUT don't hijack shit to insert Mike into the discussion

Right. I mean it's a hot ass mess and I can't understand why people would wanna start FLAME wars anyway. That's why I can't stay in threads that talk about female performers. You think someone had hurt someone in their families the way they go on the defensive! disbelief

I don't think "Blue Gangsta" means ANYTHING, it's just a title and about someone who got dumped so he's deciding not to fall in love I guess and get payback on her or something.
