I love this live version of RTT. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

This is my first time of hearing this. Nice. I need to get the rest of missing J5 and early albums. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Joanelle Romero: My Friend Michael Jackson - In Loving Memory My Friend Michael. Never can say goodbye …. On June 25th 2009, I was packing and moving out of a house we had lived in for 6 years and an acquaintance phoned me and said Michael Jackson is dead, turn on the TV.I dropped the phone, turned on the television and there it all was, I fainted, no one was home with me. I woke and cried and cried and I am still crying. My heart is so broken; you see Michael was a friend and he believed in me. I’ve known Michael since I was 10 years old, we went to school together at Gardner Street school off of Sunset Blvd, we were in the 6th grade together. I was always invited to go to his house to play, he would swing me in this big tree swing and we would speak of our dreams. Michael asked me to go steady on the steps of Gardener Street school. Two weeks before school ended my mother sent me to live with my dad in NM. I never got to say goodbye to Michael. One week before Michael left this earth, my son and I were shopping at Nordstrom’s, and we run into Jermaine. I asked him to please tell Michael I needed to see him, that I needed to visit, that it was important and I gave him my new numbers. God works in mysterious ways. In 1991, I launched my production company, it was 2 weeks old when I received a call from Michaels casting office, asking if I had any American Indian dancers b/c everyone he had been interviewing wasn’t right. I told them “I have the best dancers in town” I really had no one, however I went to many Pow wows and gathered 30 dancers, one of them being my precious daughter Sage. She was 5 then. Michaels casting office had no idea that Michael and I knew each other. To make a long story short. Director John Landis, cast 5 dancers, my daughter – who was the jingle dress dancer, and four other dancers from the native community here in Los Angeles that I brought in that day. Michael shot 7 hours of photos of Sage while shooting his video and used her image for his painted angels in his Neverland ranch. We had so much fun while filming. Michael, Sage and I watched “Willie Wonka” 3 times while everybody had to wait on set. Michael took Sage and Nancy Reagan to lunch, he had asked if I wanted to go however I declined for obvious reasons. Many stories to remember ..... We had shot the segment of the native dancers in the studio, then Michael read one of my music video scripts and one week later we were on location re-shooting the native segment out-side. Due to Michael’s insight, he added my production company and shared the press in Entertainment Weekly. Michael became the leading force in making my company known to the world. It is now an award-winning production company in producing American Indian documentaries and independent films. The 1991 “Black or White” music video and song made history. I was able to negotiate for the American Indian dancers to be paid over and above any dancers on any music video ever, due to the fact they were traditionally dressed (the wardrobe did not come from western costume). To date, they are the highest paid dancers in the music video industry. Also, this segment was the first clip of American Indian dancers in a music video without being a Native American music group/artist. On our opening night of our 2009 Red Nation Film Festival – A Night of Tribute Awards, we honored Michael Jackson for his “Black or White” Music Video – In Loving Memory of Michael Jackson. I have many personal stories about Michael and that I will keep in my heart forever. I am not going to spend my life being a color, I am a Human Being – God Bless You MJ Together we can Heal the world make it a better place. …..We Love You Michael …….. I believe Jennifer Batten said that during one of the rehearsals there was a wardrobe malfunction with one of the male dancers. Michael got worried about what might happen if it occurred onstage and pulled it.

I wish I could listen to it, but little MJ will make me cry though I played tons of J5 the other day and felt okay. It's just that I love this album and then the finale Music & Me is too emotional. That song makes me burst into tears. It was emotional to begin with before he left, but now

Chuckie's remix of "Hollywood Tonight" has arrived.
And it's fantastic.

It already leaked a week ago.
And it's far from fantastic. Mediocre at worst.... OK at best. |

Exactly, it sounds like the generic dance music that came out in the mid 2000s.
Hollywood Tonight and Behind The Mask could have some great electro remixes. They should've gotten Sam Sparro, Chromeo, Cut Copy, Tesla Boy, Julian Brody, Hot Chip, or Trackademicks to make some cool mixes for the singles "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Judge rules Michael Jackson's business manager must testifyBusiness manager Tohme Tohme knew about Michael Jackson's finances and drug habits, the defense argues.
Los Angeles (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's former business manager, Tohme Tohme, must testify in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is accused in Jackson's death, a judge ruled Monday.
Tohme's attorneys argued their client was not properly served the subpoena, but a process server testified she handed it to Tohme at his home March 3. A used car dealer testified Monday that he was with Tohme at an auto auction at the time.
"I am satisfied there was service in this case," said Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor after hearing both witnesses. Pastor was more concerned about the argument that Tohme's testimony would be irrelevant to the Murray case.
Paul Takakjian, Tohme's attorney, said the defense was "tossing out a fishing line" without any knowledge that Tohme knew anything that would help their case. Murray's attorneys argued that Tohme is a critical witness for their defense strategy to prove that Jackson gave himself the fatal dose of anesthesia that led to his June 25, 2009, death. Tohme had "intimate knowledge of his finances, drug use, his habits" in his final months, defense lawyer Nareg Gourjian said.
Jackson's "financial difficulties at the time is clearly relevant to our assertion that Mr. Jackson self-administered himself with propofol," Gourjian said.
While the defense argument "seems to be a lot of speculation," Pastor said he would let the subpoena of Tohme stand since he was Jackson's business manager at the time of his death. He indicated he would later consider whether to limit the subjects on which Tohme can be questioned. The defense indicated it wanted to question Tohme about the pressure placed on Jackson in his final months to prepare for the 50 shows he was to perform in London for AEG Live starting that July.
"He (Tohme) negotiated the AEG deal and other witnesses say Mr. Jackson was very angry about this," Gourjian said. Tohme will not cooperate with the defense by giving them an interview ahead of his testimony, he said.
The court will consider a similar motion next week by Dr. Arnold Klein.
The defense contends the Beverly Hills dermatologist gave Jackson drugs that Murray did not know about in the weeks before his death. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled Jackson's cause of death was "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with "the contributory affects of the benzodiazepines."
The court will hold a third day of jury selection next week to build up a pool of "hardship qualified" potential jurors -- those whose families, finances and jobs could withstand a two-month trial. The final jury selection process is set for May 4, with opening statements scheduled for May 9.

This is part of a 2 week series called People Worth Knowing. We will be featuring great people throughout history that have had a great impact and changed the course of history. These are all people worth knowing, and their examples will lead us into a greater future.
Michael Jackson (1958-2009) You had Sinatra in the 40s, Elvis in the 50s, The Beatles in the 60s, and in the 80s and 90s you had Michael Jackson. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson may very well be the greatest entertainer of our lifetime. Entering the limelight in 1964, at the age of 6, Michael entertained millions from every corner of the globe for half a century. His contributions to pop culture and society are endless, ranging from changing the world of music and dance to starting the Heal the World Foundation. His album Thriller remains the most popular album in the world, having sold over 750,000,000 copies. Not just an entertainer, Michael was a passionate humanitarian, and he often expressed his passion in his lyrics. In songs like “We are the World” and “Main in the Mirror” Michael spoke to the hearts of people and made powerful statements of the need for unity, compassion, and peace among mankind. He founded the ‘Heal the World Foundation’ in 1992, through which he airlifted 46 tons of supplies to Sarajevo and donated millions of dollars to beneficial causes, released charity singles and supported 39 other charities. In 2000 he was cited with the world record for “Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star.” Regardless of any and all allegations proposed against Michael, it cannot be disputed that he worked hard to improve the world he saw so many problems with. Unlike many of us, wishing things better wasn’t enough. Michael saw the world not just for what it was, but for what it could be, and because of this he spent his entire life using his gifts and skills to change the world. Michael is a testament to the amount of difference a man can make when he truly dedicates himself. In my younger years Michael was everything I wanted to be; he was slick, he dressed crazy, he danced like a star, he was everything everyone wanted to be. As I grew I realized he was so much more than just a star, Michael was a hero. You could tell from everything he did the amount of work he must have put in day in and day out. He took it upon himself to make a difference, an idea that many of us forget as life gets in the way. Michael reminds us every day of the power we have to make a difference in the world. “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change.” Thank you for dedicating your life to us, Michael. We’ll miss you! http://www.zencollegelife...l-jackson/

Just be better off with no videos, imo. Im not interested at all in seeing an "MJ" video with a bunch of people cheesing in front of a camera doing impressions of him. No offense to them, but I just can't support that. Do people even watch music videos like that anymore?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Are all the Michael videos gonna be fan tributes?
I mean, come up with a actual concept/storyline, hire some actors.....hell, make an animated video? Doing videos like this just makes it completely corny "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
They should just DROP IT! Why are they even thinking anyone is interested in THAT?! I'm not gonna see anything that belittles Michael's legacy. Fuck that.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm sure there's people who think it's a great idea. They probably think that
1) This gets fans back on their sides
2) It will be similar promotion like what Michael did with Who Is It
If I remember correctly, there actually was a video shot for Behind The Mask, maybe this will be just a secondary kind of thing
"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

If they're trying to do those two things, they're failing miserably to me.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
They're tryna portray us as a bunch of moonwalking idiots who have nothing better to do than make these useless videos for them. Do your own goddamn fan tributes, people!
Or, they're pretty much doing a dick measuring contest between Michael and other artists. Like "check out how many people Mike inspires...how many fans love him...etc". Sorta reminds me of the TII mosaic (I donated 2 pics of me to that )
Actually...excuse the last one...if I'm associating things with dick it's cuz I just walked out of pyschology class.
Timmy....I shoulda said this earlier...great sig

A huge portion of fans on MJJC are excited about it so the mission was accomplished "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I think it's pointless making videos without Michael here. What made Michael's videos so great? His talent and charisma. He's not here, they just need to leave it alone. Does anyone even watch music videos anymore?
