No one invented nothing. Not even Madonna. smile

Not even Madonna? faint

Nope. smile

Remember the pointy bras she used to wear? I think some male designer (Versace?) designed it for her. The hairdo style I think she got from someone who was doing the vogue movement in New York and didn't credit her. lol

People have short term memory loss on that lol

I can kinda remember it because I used to watch MTV constantly when Madonna was their "queen" as a kid. So I wasn't surprised when Gaga did what she has done and now she's compared to Madonna. That's what the media does.

To be honest and serious though, I'm tired of the comparisons too. Sure I can hear it and I'll stick with it but it ain't that serious.

Still don't like the song though. confused

Yeah, Meh I agree. Sounds generic. Same as the original version. lol

But it seems to be a big hit. Go figure.

Yes it sounds almost identical to Express yourself, saying that though I still really like it. I also hear the Kelly Rowland song in it too and another one which I've forgotten right now.

And I have to say I can also can hear the influence of Respect Yourself on Express yourself though only in the chorus (especially Bruce's version). Its not really comparable to how similar Born This Way is but the influence is definitley there.

WELL, what do you know?!

Lady Gaga: 'Born This Way' has Madonna's blessing

By Ann Oldenburg, USA TODAY

Lady Gaga addressed the fact that her new single Born This Way sounds like Madonna's Express Yourself last night on Jay Leno's Tonight Show.

"There is no one who is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan, personally and professionally. The good news is that I got an e-mail from her people and her sending me their her love and complete support on behalf of the single," said Gaga. "So, if the queen says it shall be, it shall be."

THREE DAYS!?!

Lady Gaga on Grammy Egg: 'I Was In It for Three Days'

by Linday Powers, The Hollywood Reporter | February 15, 2011 10:45 EST

[img:$uid]http://www.billboard.com/photos/stylus/1018949-lady-gaga-jay-leno-tonight-show-617-409.jpg[/img:$uid]

Lady Gaga appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Monday night (Feb. 14) to discuss her Grammy egg and the controversy surrounding "Born This Way's" similarity to Madonna's "Express Yourself."

Gaga -- who donned a see-through dress over black underwear and a bra -- filled her three Grammys with M&Ms in honor of Valentine's Day and put them on Leno's desk during the interview.

How did she celebrate the wins?

"I don't remember very much. I know it was fun. I do remember being called drunk-y Gaga at one point," she joked.

She made sure to clarify that her Grammy egg -- which she hatched from during her performance -- was a "vessel," not an egg.

"I was in it for three days," she says. "It was temperature controlled."

Gaga designed the latex outfits she and her dancers wore during the performance.

"Two days before the performances, I changed everything. I felt so bad because Haus of Gaga was red eyed and up all night," she said. "They looked like dancers in the outfits. I'm so close to all of them…sometimes I don't want the band and the dancers to look like the band and dancers behind me. It's really a performance, and 'Born This Way' is nothing without all of them."

The rubber dress with exaggerated butt and breasts she wore to accept her Grammys was designed by Thierry Mugler and "was inspired by humanoids…alien sex humanoid hybrid woman," Gaga said.

(She sat in front of Will Smith and his 10-year-old daughter, Willow, at the show: "I told Willow she inspired me to whip my hair back and forth on stage.")

Gaga also revealed that she wrote the lyrics and melody to "Born This Way" very quickly, but spent a year revising the beat and sound.

As for that song's comparisons to Madonna, she defended herself, "There is no one that is more adoring and a loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally."

"The good news is that I got an email from her people and her sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single," Gaga continued. "If the queen says it, it shall be."

I think the media is trying like hell to stir up some kind of bad blood between Madonna and Lady Gaga.

On the contrary, I think the media is doing its job in highlighting Gaga's copycat-ness.
