I heard this song at an old school party. It seems very hard to a google search did even show what album its on. Can any give me some insite on where to start my search?

i got the paul lawrence 12". it's a good track. not a lot of people remember it. it was a minor hit on the radio back in '85, copping the 'billie jean' guitar lick. you can also mix it with club house's (or slingshot's) 'do it again'.

and discogs is a pretty good resource for looking at records. it's kind of expensive though, with all the shipping.

I didn't know Paul Laurence recorded an album I LOVE this guy's work! Between him, Kashif and Jacques Fred Petrus, they did the BEST early 80s R&B/boogie sound to me.

yeah...he recorded a couple, actually. That first one (the 1985 debut "Haven't You Heard" with "Strung Out" and "There aint Nothin") is well worth tracking down.

His second album, "Overexposed" has cuts too ("Make My Baby Happy", "Cut The Crap", "Sue Me", and esp. "Ordinary Girl".

Both albums are nice bookends for his 80's production credits.

Paul's CD with Strung Out has just been remastered with bonus cuts, including 2 other versions of Strung Out. It will be released in April.
