Funny you should mention that. I've always wanted to hear more of Charles Manson's music. I've also always wanted to personally sit down and talk to him. I've never believed he was as crazy as he's played himself. Evil perhaps, but not so crazy.

It's no wonder why Tommy Lee needed a solo career outside of Motley Crue. The whole band suffers every time one band member screws up.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Exactly. And every other year, it's either Nicki or Vince. But somehow when shit gets fucked up between them, they ended up coming back lol they must treat their band like a marriage. When problems get too acriminous (and it's usually because one of the them get drunk or high off heroin, cocaine or whatever), they split and find other partners, the relationships with the other partners don't work out, so they reunite to see if they can work it out. And oddly enough they're on their 30th anniversary coming up next year.
Tommy had to escape because he was caught up in not only Motley's mess but in his own tabloid-embroiled scandals with Pamela Anderson and 'em.

I don't mind knowing that George Michael like to smoke . I'm only disappointed about that incident of him getting high while driving a car!!!

..it's funny how Tommy Lee is Mr. "hip hop wannabe" and is buddies with Snoop, Puffy..(yeah I still call him that) Missy and others. But in a interview w/ SPIN magazine (back in 1997 or 98), he and Nikki used the "N" word freely throughout the interview. And I've seen Mick "I love black music and the blues" Mars use the "N" word too on a 1994 bootleg of them in the studio.

A lot of the time, when one says ''fire bun'' or ''bun chichi man'' it means it in a metaphorical sense, rather than in a literal, physical sense. A declaration of ones dislike of homosexuality. However, this is not always the case, especially in dancehall where lyrics are often very violent.

THAT makes it better? | |

Thank you
I did not say that I was expecting GM to stay in his 80s pop self forever. I just say that I wasn't expecting him to mature (musically) so fast. Throughout the 90s his music was sometimes good sometimes not so good but generally boring (to me). I mean compare him with the rest of the '80s megastars: Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Janet Jackson, hell even Whitney Houston... did any of them did such a u-turn so early in their career going from some of the best pop ever made to middle-of-the-road AC stuff?
And my criticism of him has nothing to do with my criticism for Mariah. They went on opposite directions yes but for both it looked unnatural. Mariah did something that very few artists have done which is part of the reason it looked (and still looks) so unnatural abd GM did what most artists do eventually but he did it way too abruptly and suddenly which is why it looked so unnatural. In both cases it was off-putting to me

Of course it does. Which do YOU think is worse? To say that you are against homosexuality, or to encourage people to stab and shoot homosexual people?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I think that lyrics that speak of stabbing or shooting gay people, whether "metaphorically" or "literally" are equally bad. Speaking metaphorically is not going to encourage people any less to commit bad acts if they are prone to do so in the first place, in my opinion. I feel that artists who speak against homosexuality do encourage some to commit violence against gay people, even when they are speaking "metaphorically".
Moreover, how is anyone supposed to know if when an artist says something like "set gay people on fire!", that they are speaking "metaphorically" or "literally"? Particularly when they are coming from a culture with a long history of committing violence against gay people. How would it sound different in either case? Just as if someone were to shout "FIRE!" in a crowded theater, and 100 people get trampled to death trying to escape, what difference would it make if the person were shouting metaphorically or literally? The outcome would be the same, people died as a result of the word(s) being said.
In either case, it sounds like you're defending hateful rhetoric, whether metaphorical or literal. Though I hope that's not the case, and would assume that we're just splitting hairs, which is something I don't really want to get into.

@ISF It's bad either way. Neither is better than the other. That's like choosing the lesser of two evils so I can't excuse that but hey if it makes you happy...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
yes, they are two different artists, it doesn't matter what one did in terms of what the other did.
But I totally agree with both assessments, there is nothing wrong with George maturing, but the fun left his music. He seemed self conscious about wanting to be a "serious" artist. Problem was, he never made innovative or particularly great (in my opinon) music, just serious music. It's possible to make serious music that is still fun and/or interesting. He abandoned what made his music good in the first place and made it boring instead.
And Mariah did not act like a dumb teen at 19, but she does now! My Legacy

Me too and all I could think of was " You fucked Vanity you dumb racist sonofabitch!!!"
anyway....
I'm done with R. Kelly cuz he's a panty freak. I will listen to his music but i won't give him my money.
I'm done with RazB...I only bought one B2K single but it's the last he will see of my money because he is turning into a loon and can't hold a constructive conversation with anyone.
I'm done with Kelly Rowland cuz it has finally dawned on me that the heffa is talentless.
I've been done with Britney for some time. Her 5150 incident and locking herself in the bathroom with a gun and her then baby was all I could stand.
I'm totally turned off that Rick Ross is glorifying Big Meech and Larry Hoover, two notorious black crime lords.
I'm turned off by Kanye because it is becoming more evident to me that he worships the devil.

Kelly Rowland--Great to look at as long as you have earplugs.
Rick Ross--Never understood the celebration of destructive influences in our community, whether they be drugs or the criminals that peddle them.
Kanye-In the words of Terrell Owens "I love me some me", and Kanye is no different. Kanye is my favorite hip hop artist, but he has become somewhat stranger. After his mom died, its like he had a psychotic split from reality and his art. "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
^ I tried ear plugs and Kelly's shrill vocals still managed to bust my ear drum.
I cannot stomach rap that glorifies the mafia, drug king pins and ghetto street thugs who caught the eye if the FBI. Rap about your hustle and how you made it out of the ghetto but don't give me this shit about how great criminals are and how you aspire to be like them.
Kanye - ick. Well, I enjoy his music but his image is giving me pause. Something is going on with him and it screams occult. The Power video is what put me over and had me giving Kanye the side eye. There are disturbing images in that video and he did that shit on purpose - not for art either. His socializing with the Kardashians is not helping as I find that family suspicous as hell. Their fame monster has fangs!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
With the Power video, it is what it is, but it is very different. Sometimes I think he tries really hard to stand out and in the process, loses people. If anything turns me off of Kanye, it would be making a bad album and he's usually been on point.
The Kardashians are just fame leeches and will dick ride anyone to stay relevant.

R. Kelly. . .when a woman loves song really turned me off. I don't think he knows what loving "foreal" is with a 60's stevie wonder undertone. I mean like really " she took me back after i broke her heart about 1000 times". If that is the definition in Merriam Webster's dictionary about that how a woman loves "foreal", then I am really running in the other direction. Prince. . .great Artist, genius really, but after Emancipation the apocolaypse like came and stuart little was in a panic. Kesha. . .Tick Tok off the radar please and stop using drugs as metaphors for love. Rihanna. . .Her songs are ok, but after that whole CB incident. She lost her mind. Kanye West. . .I hated that freaky Power vid , and stop acting like you lost your damn mind! Chris Brown. . .enuff said Britney Spears. . .her voice is annoying, but her songs are catchy.period. done.

R Kelly - Having sex with underage girls (I wouldn't care if he pissed on adult women, nasty guy lol)
Ray Charles - His support for Israel (I have read this in a few sorces, I can't guarentee it is 100% fact)
Mariah Carey - Going from having a great voice and releasing great music, to a hoe who can't sing and releases shit music. I wouldn't mind if she turned into a hoe and still released good music! lol
Prince - Prancing around in make up and womens underwear. It's kind of off putting, but he's made amazing music so I don't care, too much. That song ''Sister'' however is fucked up sick twisted shit
Having said all this, I still listen to these artists music [Edited 12/31/10 12:28pm]

I'll always love The Beatles, but I can't stand post-Beatles John Lennon. The more I read about him or see in documentaries, the more I find to dislike. I really don't think his solo work is any good either, except for a greatest hits compilation.

Oh mah lawd! I can't breathe!
But yes, I have a few I'm pissed with.
Kanye West: Get over yourself, you self-righteous, pretentious son of a bitch! You are NOT Michael Jackson and you never will be! That goes for you too, Usher!
Usher: see Kanye West
R. Kelly: Sure that wasn't you on the tape. As Cedric the Entertainer once said, he was set up...set up the camera that is Stone pervert...
Ke$ha: bitch I never liked you. And popularizing Jeffrey Dahmer in your song didn't endear you to me.
Beyoncé: Videophone??? FO'REAL???
Prince: The way he treated Mayte...*sigh. And that new hair ain't doin' him favours neither!
Quincy: goin' crazy in his old age.
Chris Brown:....fuck you, you pretentious, woman-beating ass! (yeah I cursed. I curse once a year, and todays that damn day )
and idk why y'all mentioning the Kardashians. No talent, no nothing twits the lot of them.
