explain why you think she is so incredible....
Great lyrics, kickass songwriting and beats, touchingly vulnerable vocals and a dynamic live performer.
Her albums are winding up on many critics' end-of-year lists, so it's not surprising that others feel this way, too.
Lost me at lyrics, and I don't think her stuff is as good as let's say lady gaga. Good Performer, agree with that, she has a good voice. The song Who's That Girl? from her last album sounds better than any of the songs on the recent disc, add cobrastyle and a few other tracks , but her rap it's just bad on some tracks. The Girl and The Robot is the shit, but it was on last years Röyksopp album. The monumental track from that album being This must be it.

for instance I have that Crystal Castles II cd and I just didn't get into it, now I see it is on someone's #1 list.
I can't do a song list, can I just pick 5 albums to weigh in?
Funny That just happened to be on my list. What about the first album, did you like that one? Being a big fan of swedish pop, check out the jj album from this year and the miike snow and fever ray if you haven't.

Interesting because I find Lady Gaga's music to be very bland and derivative. She's only successful because of her outrageous wardrobe. Robyn's music to me is much more varied and exciting. |

I agree. Her forced eccentricity is irritating, she's no Bjork. |

Yeah I loved the first Crystal Castles and the demos they did before it, and I bought the second one even though I knew no one else would. There was almost no buzz for the second one, it just showed up in the stores. Anyway, I couldn't suss it and now it is time to make a 2010 list.
I spent from August onward famming out on The Style Council. |

up to 20 songs and 20 albums
Each list must contain at least 5 albums or 5 songs.
I got it twisted, I have a list that I need to just narrow down to 20 not 5!! |

Okay I narrowed this down to a ranked top twenty albums.
I bought way more albums than this in 2010, but some of them never sank in (eg. Owen Pallet's Heartland, Crystal Castles II) so I did not rate them.
I also removed Christmas releases (Annie Lennox, Mariah Carey) per my own rule about making lists, and my favorite DJ compilation (Burlesque Of North America's Do It To It III) per the no-compilations rule.
Cinnie's Top Albums of 2010 (LET'S GO!!!!):
1. Roc Marciano - Marcberg 2. Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy 3. Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Return Of The Ankh 4. Justin Bieber - My World 2.0 5. Chromeo - Business Casual 6. Monica - Still Standing 7. Dam-Funk - Hood Pass Intact EP 8. Jazmine Sullivan - Love Me Back 9. Robyn - Body Talk [Complete] 10. Michael Jackson - Michael 11. Strong Arm Steady - In Search Of Stoney Jackson 12. Kings Go Forth - The Outsiders Are Back 13. Chapter Thrive & Ryan Stinson - 20 Something 14. Guilty Simpson & Madlib - Guilty Simpson 15. Rihanna - Loud 16. Mode Moderne - Ghosts Emerging 17. Ghostface Killah - Apollo Kids 18. Usher - Versus 19. El Debarge - Second Chance 20. Kelis - Fleshtone

I'm sorry I don't know how to do this with fake stage names! |

I agree for the most part, poker face and telephone are my guilty pleasures and excellent, I thought body talk would be more to my liking still not feeling her, though it's been popular among the dance crowd and critics. Anyone see the kelis/robyn tour. who outperfromed? [Edited 1/14/11 17:07pm] |

I saw the Kelis/Robyn tour twice here in NYC. The first show in Brooklyn was great since Kelis came out during the encore and performed a few songs with Robyn. The last show at Webster Hall was truncated (curfew?) so there were no duets and each individual setlist was also shortened--disappointing. It was more of a Robyn crowd on this tour so she was rightfully the headliner.
Robyn live is spectacular. It's remarkable how much energy she has. And she feeds off the audience which naturally love her. I saw her a third time solo at Terminal 5 and it was the same. I'd like to see if she can pull it off yet again at Radio City next month. |

Moonbeam said: I saw Twin Shadiw in NYC in April opening for Jamie Lidell's first American show in support of Compass. Wasn't wildly thrilled about them there, and thought they seemed a little disinterested. Caught them again opening for Jamie in Austin in September and it was a totally different story - much more engaged and into it. Met the band after the show and they signed their CD, then hung around and met Jamie, who took the time to sign Multiply, Jim AND Compass, all with a different message for my 6-year-old son, who loves his music and obviously was not in attendance. Super great guy, and doesn't get the attention he deserves. Glad to see Compass on many lists here. |
