Actually, since you mentioned "Faith", this is a song by the cure. The song is called "Close To You", it sounds like George ripped it off for "Faith".

I don't know about some of these songs being "rip-offs" or "copycats" but they sure share similarities especially where "Faith" is concerned. "Faith" also has that "Bo Diddley" beat.
