I hate Beyonce's music even though, but the hatred against Beyonce is simply irrational. I've noticed the issue a long time ago, and I came to the conclusion that race has a LOT to do with that.

Ah...the good ol' race card, huh? lol

The man in your avatar is black, talented, successful and he is pretty much worshipped on this site.So much for your 'theory' wink

Maybe people don't like Beyonce simply because....her music sucks? hmmm Sounds like a valid reason to me.

It's her Texan accent. It makes her seem like she's struggling to pronounce words. Singing can cover it up, but speaking roles exposes her "weakness". It makes me cringe. It's like listening to Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson speak publicly. It embarasses me as a black person. Sorry to say.

Beyonce is on a break and won't be putting out new music anytime soon right? So why is it that when Kelly is about to put out her new single "Commander", all of a sudden, Beyonce is releases a snippet of her NEW video "Why Don't You Love Me", a bonus track from the I Am...Sasha Fierce album?

Because she's been shitting on their faves since 1998. Everybody's fans are mad at Beyonce.

Prince fans are mad at her for stealing his shine at the shammys
MJ fans are mad because people have the NERVE to cpmpare her to His Highness
Janet / Madonna fans are mad because she can sing AND dance
Mariah / Whitney fans are mad because 15 years into her career she can STILL SING
Ashanti/Ciara/Amerie/ fans are mad because they flopped and she sold 3 million

As i said before... its lonely at the TOP, and thats excatly where Beyonce is sitting.

Hmmmm.....I think you have a point. She does manage to steal the spot light even from people who have been in the industry for longer than she has. I like Bee, but I don't think she should get more credit than Prince. Or Etta James for that matter, by singing her song "At Last". I couldn't believe she was actually invited to the presidential ball to sing that when Etta James is STILL ALIVE! eek
No, no, and no. As an MJ fan, yes I get pissed when people try and compare Beyoncé to Michael Jackson. I love Bee, and I know she's a big MJ fan. But comparing her to MJ is not even possible. She's inspired by him, but she is NOT him or even a mirror image of him. And I wish people would stop making the comparison.
Janet and Madonna fans...If you're talking about Janet Jackson, that woman actually has talent. She can sing and dance and managed to make her career without the help of Michael. I'm not a big fan of Madonna, so I cannot speak for her. Bee's dancing doesn't come to the same calibur as Janet's, or her brother Michael's. It's more a provacative form of dance that really is reminiscent of strip teasing. And not just once in a while, all the time. Just once, I'd like to see Beyoncé push her music without using her body, but by using the talent I know she has.
No comment on Mariah and Whitney.
I remember Ashanti and Ciara....but I remember them back in the day when Bee was still with DC. I haven't really listened much to any newer hits (more Ciara than AShanti) to really formulate an opinion.

Remembering Bee back when she was with Destiny's Child. I saw her morph into someone virtually unrecognizable since "The Writings On The Wall". I figured that's show business and I live with it. I do like some of her solo stuff, but I think she deserves better songs than what she's doing. While "Single Ladies" is a fun little tune, it's hardly something you want to be forever branded under. I hope to God she realizes that she deserves better work than what she's been doing.

As far as her acting career goes, I was impressed with Dream Girls. She did an alright job with that. However...after seeing "Carmen: A hip hopera". omg omg faint...Bizet must be turning in his grave. disbelief

it all depends .. it does seem like every time Kelly puts something out, Beyonce releases something. Like when Kelly released her single "Like This", 3 Beyonce demos leaked at the same time. Reminds me of how Motown used to release old MJ songs every time MJ released something

Who hates Beyonce? Her music maybe, but not her as a person. If she sang songs that weren't mindless drivel and beneath her vocal abilities; didn't rely soo much on her image to carry her music; and, would take a break and disappear for a while than people probably wouldn't have a problem with her...I know I wouldn't but that's just me.

I don't get why people only name the so called hip-hop songs. She has loads of songs that aren't hip-hop at all. The whole I Am side of her last album, for example.
If you don't like her music, fair enough, but don't call her talentless. That's ridiculous. Anyone with ears knows she can sing (extremely well). As for the stealing the spotlight, it's not her fault people like her songs. She doesn't owe other singers anything. Telling her to sit down and take a break so Ciara, Kelly Rowland and whoever can have a hit is like telling Kobe Bryant to sit out a game so the other team can win.
You call Beyonce exposed and love Rihanna. Rihanna has released 4 albums in her 5 year career. Beyonce has released 3 in her 7 year career.

Whether it was released at the same time or not {like PurpleRain2010 said} it's not her fault if people choose to like her more than someone else. And when Kelly released like this Beyonce already had a video out from the B-Day album if I'm not mistaken.

So, she's supposed to step away from her career because people who doesn't even like her music can have a break? confuse If you don't like her music, her as an entertainer/performer you wouldn't be watching her in the first place right?... so what exactly is it these people want a break from. I just think it's pretty damn crazy to want someone to take a break from their career {mind you, this is what keeps people in their homes, keeps food on the table and not only that someones passion, what they love to do} because you're so-called tired of seeing them. No one is gonna ask you to take a break from your career/job so they can have a break from you even if they are tired of looking at your face and I'm pretty sure the people in here and everywhere else who says that about Beyonce would look at a fool like they're about to kill them or better yet even curse an ass out if someone walked up to them and said some mess like that. lol

We... well, at least, I don't hate Beyoncé. But, I cannot for the life of me get past the suspicion that Matthew Knowles and Jay-Z hold a nightly, fireside toast of Cristal and with an utterly devious cackle:

"To the lowest common denominator ... cheers!"

Meanwhile, almost out of earshot, down the hall, Bey bemusedly mumbles from her dollhouse of a bedroom, "There they go, talkin' 'bout fractions again..."

Her ubiquity and undeniable voice do nothing to mask the fact that her product is trifling, her style is trifling and her persona is contrived.

She is held up as progress and, to many of us who detest her work, she represents the sum of all enduring stereotypes and gimmicks.

I disagree that the pinnacle of her career is that Single Ladies video. I think her turning point came when she went blond, because it signifies the shallowness of her art: mass marketing of the lowest common denominator through sheer saturation. "Let them eat dung."

Not hate. I look upon Beyoncé Knowles much as one might regard a three-legged greyhound -- if it weren't for that handicap, that dog would fly...

One thing she isn't is an average singer. Have you seen her live videos on YT? She has never had a bad performance and has always been consistent. As for the song-writing I've said it before and will say it again - she has never claimed to write songs by herself. She admits that she co-writes.

"I have writers that I write with, or I have writers that will send me a full song, and I'll rearrange it - change the second verse, change the melody, keep a chord that I like, and recreate it. Just depends. I might bring in whoever I think can help the song. When I have just a beat it's the most fun for me. I'll get somebody to play whatever I hum for the bassline. So I'm creating a whole track with my voice."
http://www.telegraph.co.u...-girl.html

I don't recall her ever acting superior to everyone else. If you are talking about the Jackson thing, was it ever proved she said it? Magazines love making up rumours. Anyway, she has spoken of her love for Michael's music before and how he inspired her. I doubt she would say bad stuff about his family. She has never said anything about a celeb before. She leaves that to other people. Although IF she said it, she has a point.
[Edited 4/24/10 12:40pm]

And what point is that?

The point being that the Jackson family dynamic and her family dynamic is different. The jackson are Gary Indiana which is a very impoverish town, Beyonce is from Houston, but her family was far from impoverish. Not to mention, every black entertainer gets the stereotype of doing entertainer to get out of the ghetto to keep from being poor. Every black entertainer on some level going back to the Motown days gets that stereotype from the media.

But see that's the point. Bey would have been doing it, whether her father was her/DC manager or not. She was already in the group before her dad was ever the manager. So her being in the industry wasn't to get out of poverty. She actually wanted to do it. Her dad and mom was making money. That's how MK could afford to quit his job and be their manager even though a little after things got tight for them according to their reports.

I don't argue that, they will tell you themselves that he saw more in them than they could ever think of themselves and BTW, I didn't exactly like how she said it or that she even said it. But I got why she said it because every black entertainer has the stereotype that they come from poverty. And how many people feel poverty is a good thing? Let's be real. Also, MK might be her manager but Bey runs her career. He is mostly manager in name only.
