Such hate and vitriol is a waste of energy and time. Focus your energies elsewhere.
It's one thing to not care for someone, or even call an artist out on nonsense, but to spend time hating on someone to a great extent is wasteful. Just sayin'. But I'll say this about Beyowulf: I'm not impressed with her anymore. I love a good catchy riff and song. Hell, I love Spice Girls songs, too. B's lying about songwriting, and other ghost writing, and side-stepping things about her music puts a bad taste in my mouth. I hate these "stars" that try to create some sort of mystique and prodigy-esque glow around themselves. She exaggerates shit to the point that it's comical. Plus, I just think she takes herself WAY too seriously.

I like Beyonce. I have a lot of her songs. I think she's an amazing singer. Her personality doesn't bother me too much. I admire her hustle. On the other hand, I do concur that I feel she wastes her talent on throwaway songs and I would like to see her begin to mature and show some growth as an artist. Her dancing is very limited. A break now and then would not be a bad idea. Also if she upgraded her wigs and weaves it would not be a bad idea. Other than that, I have no hate for Beyonce. Then again I can't think of too many artists that I actually hate. maybe Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber LOL.

She's definitely a queen.
But her reign is over a vastly shrunken, crumbling, and even more breathtakingly superficial era. She so far seems to possess neither the substance of Tina Turner nor the amazing volume of quality material of either Donna Summer or Diana Ross. As you say, she's a very good singer/entertainer. If only she had been born in an era where she didn't have to be viewed as doing everything on her own, which she clearly can't and shouldn't, Motown might have carved her out a pretty amazing career. No, not a more popular one, a much higher volume of quality material.

1. She wastes her talent on mediocre songs 2. She takes songwriters' credit 3. She and her father have no scruples 4. She's overexposed 5. She can't act, no matter how hard she tries 6. She's a poor man's Tina Turner Pretty much sums up what I've seen on the board. Personally, I think something is wrong when the defining moment of her career consists of her dancing to a Bob Fosse routine move for move in a black leotard and an MJ lookalike glove, singing about Single Ladies (if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it??) I've seen better. Much better. 7. She is trying way too hard to BE an icon. Artists like the Beatles, MJ, Elvis, they weren't "trying" to be icons, they did what they did, they were FANTASTIC at it, and they became legends. Beyonce is nothing more then a product trying at every turn to build herself into an icon, when at best, she is a poor man's Brandy with more media behind her. 8.She is over-rated (along with over-exposed) Sure, she can sing, but that is expected if you are a product. She is given way too much credit for things she doesn't deserve. The innovative "Single Ladies" video is all a rip off. Someone should repost that post about Beyonce won't end up being the next MJ. It pretty much sums up, why she gets all the hate she does, and why she DESERVES it. One last point...lasting ten years in the industry doesn't impress me when you have the label/money behind her that she does. If she wasn't banging Jay-Z and related to one of the biggest men in show business behind the scenes, she'd have been dropped from her label after her first solo album. If she wanted to impress people she would stay the hell away from the studio, performing live, doing interviews, press, acting, and anything media related for at least 3 years, then come back out. However, she can't do that because... 9. She is a fame whore. Reason 10 anyone? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Beyonce can sing, I'll give her that, but her music isn't really innovative or wonderful, I actually liked her better when she was still with Destiny's Child, but even then I didn't care much for their music. I mean, to me, her music sounds too generic and on top of that, she does try a little too damn hard to impress people, which is a turn off for me. I mean, she's really just a complete fake ever since she sold out, I don't necessarily mean that in bad way, it's just her sound is so popish and annoying.
I don't hate her, I just think she needs better material or better yet just retire for a while and have some damn kids ( ) with her hubby. [Edited 4/16/10 20:10pm]

Oh yes, yes it can. Her music is an assault on the senses. Listening to it is akin to being humped by a dog. Add to that her horrible personality, extreme overexposure and lyrics that conflict each other with consecutive singles, and Beyonce becomes a pox on us all. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Curtwill1975 said: Seriously. I dig constructive criticism of her music. As a big fan, I don't like all of her music either, though I like/love most of it actually. I can understand people not liking her vocal stylings(I don't understand how anyone can say she can't sing at all).
It seems to me, that sometimes people, especially in here, really take it personal that Beyonce is even in the industry. Even if you don't like her music, there are millions who do and think she is a genius at what she does. If it's not the songwriting, then it's stage costumes, if it is not that then it's the Destiny's child "scandal", and if it is not that, then it is something else. So my question, why do you really hate on her? I mean, her music can't bring that much passionate against her? i don't hate her. just don't care for her music is all.

BEYONCE
Pros She has a great voice. Nice ass. Good music to party to. She's pretty. Prince actually let her get onstage with him. Cons Sings crappy material unworthy of her voice. Depends on her ass to move units. Horrible music for playing at home. Makes too many unnecessary music videos for subpar tracks. Overexposed(in every sense of the word). When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

i was a beyonce hater in the beginning also . when she and her pops kicked those broads out of destiny's child, but as she did more and more stuff (solo and with the group) and i compared her work with the other girl's solo stuff (fucking awful...all of them ). i realized she really was the "star" all along and didn't need those other chicks (she did also ). now is she the greatest vocalist that ever lived? hell no, but she does have her moments and like most artists, her voice normally fits fine with what she's tryna do musically. the greatest dancer or entertainer? no, but i've seen a few of her performances and she puts on a great show and one can't deny that she's fine as all outdoors (not that that really matters, but you know, it helps ). i have yet to listen to a full beyonce album (although i've heard the first 2 destiny's child joints cuz i used to be on they shit like crazy, i can't even stunt ), but have enjoyed most of her singles immensely, some of them more than others. is there anything spectacular or incredibly original about them? not usually, but it's pop music, it's fun, who really cares? she's not the best, she's not the worst, but she doesn't claim to be either . i can see why some people would find her annoying or just not care for her or her music, but to say she's talentless is just not true . on a side note: she should never act...like ever. something we can all agree on
For all time I am with you, you are with me.

My girlfriend used 2 be a member of the website "Second Life". She played it quite a lot and got pretty good at it. She used 2 build virtual houses on there and some of them were stunning, beautifully designed and very well crafted but if she was given the tools could she build a real house in the real world? No, not a chance, cuz it's a completely different thing. Same thing goes with 99% of artist 2day, (Beyondme included) they can make synthetic virtual music on a computer but when it comes 2 making real music in the real world they haven't got a clue. Damn though... If U hear them talk, they don't mind making people think they do. There are many things a computer can do but one thing it can't, and it never will... Is play from it's heart. And that right there is my problem with modern music. It has no heart. Beyonce can't sing from her heart with real soul like Aretha Franklyn, Janis Joplin or Koko Taylor. And her backing tracks are completely souless. Her music, like most others 2day just doesn't "Move" me at all. Thats why I don't like her and all others like her. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

I didn't really care for her until I saw her live. She is an incredibly talented performer and vocalist, period. I wasn't excited to see her and she really changed my perception of her.
She's sortof a brand name at this point... a character. you don't know what is really her. All of that is true. But from a sheer performance standpoint I think she's very good, especially by today's pop standards. She's miles better than most artists that make today's Top 40 IMHO. * * *
