Alright we've moved the party.
'Rags to Rufus' "You Got the Love" (Chaka Khan, Ray Parker, Jr.) "I Got the Right Street (But the Wrong Direction)" (Ron Stockert) "Walkin' in the Sun" (Jeff Barry) "Rags to Rufus" (Instrumental) (Dennis Belfield, Al Ciner, André Fischer, Chaka Khan, Kevin Murphy, Ron Stockert) "Swing Down Chariot" (Dennis Belfield, Al Ciner, André Fischer, Chaka Khan, Kevin Murphy, Ron Stockert) "Sideways" (Instrumental) (Dennis Belfield, André Fischer, Chaka Khan, Kevin Murphy, Ron Stockert) "Ain't Nothin' but a Maybe" (Nickolas Ashford, Valerie Simpson) "Tell Me Something Good" (Stevie Wonder) "Look Through My Eyes" (Dennis Belfield) "In Love We Grow" (Dennis Belfield) "Smokin' Room" (Dennis Belfield) I love this album cover and it's my favorite of Rufus/Chaka Khan albums; I've been wearing it out for the last year. I first became a Chakaholic in 1976 at the tender age of 4! I've been completely obsessed ever since! I have all of her albums on CD. She's done over 80 guest appearances over the years, I have about 78 of them. I have hours and hours of DVD footage of her, as well as all the youtube stuff. Scrap books, magazines, you name it! Chaka Khan is music to me! ONe thing that I love about her is, because my taste in music has always been so eclectic, she is the only artist, to my knowledge, that has recorded in just about every genre of music. The only thing she hasn't done is Opera. All of her albums, especially the solo ones, are so diverse, no two albums sound the same. She has never been one of those artists to stick to that one formula that works (which, unfortunately, may have worked against her). Lord knows she's gone thru some tough times, both professionally and personally, but she is one of those artists who have perservered. She will be celebrating 37 years in the industry next year. So many before and after her have come and gone. Influencing every major black female vocalist to come along in the past 30 years, she's still recording CDs and winning Grammies! Her iconic status is well deserved!!! "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Ok I printed these out.....got them ready to read on my break because I will get interrupted trying to read this @ work.
I'll take me a sip of my bottle of Chakahol and say this.. I first remember seeing Chaka on I Feel For You and was instantly turned on by the beats..they were fierce, rough, and hard..the drums pounded and i instantly knew Stevie Wonder was playing the harmonica even at 5 years old because Fingertips was the first song ever heard with a harmonica. An-t-way they way she sung always stuck with me...I used to SLEEP with that record in my hand it was so important to me. the second time I rememebr hearing Chaka was my mom playing Destiny loud on the record player and my mom trying her best to reproduce her vocals. But really did not become a Chakaholic until I moved out of my mom's house in 2001 with her records and decided to play that same song by myself..... I was set FO LIFE Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I just love that Supa is on a journey of growth and self-appreciation.
Aint nobody loved you betta than yourself. Through the fire you have grown into who you were meant to be. I love Chaka's music, her solo work and her work with Rufus. Her voice is healing. Somebody post how she got her name...I can't search right now. I remember hearing something about her being named by some Indian shaman or maybe that was her made up promo line. In any case, she is lovely and her voice is heavenly. Do you love what you feel? I do when it comes to Mz Khan!
