I actually think "In The Closet" was the best. I'll be picking up Time magazine. I WANTED TO START ANOTHER THREAD CALLED "WHAT MAGAZINE COVERS DO YOU THINK MJ WILL BE MEMORIALIZED ON NEXT MONTH" For sure it will be on the weekly ones that all seem to run the same cover story - US Weekly, People, OK! But who else might do a story? Wax Poetics? Rolling Stone (as if they're still relevant... but they had a nice article for James Brown)? I agre post thrille, he looke best in ITC. But nothing goes over the Beat It video MJ.

Never heard a single song from that album, just not interested... Just not a fan of the Dangerous and HIStory eras, huh? Wait a minute... that would mean you've never seen the "short film" of "Ghosts"?! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

It's rediculous that they would think that Obama is obligated to comment. Michael Jackson is an entertainer and Obama is a politician. They are in completely different fields. I realize that Michael Jackson is the biggest entertainer in history who happens to be black and Obama is the first black president, but did anyone ever pressure George Bush to make a statement every time an entertainer died? There's a double standard here. . . . [Edited 6/28/09 11:27am] Andy is a four letter word.

Are there any orgers from Detroit that are going to the candlelight vigil tonight at the Motown Museum?
My 16 year old daughter asked if we could go there for the vigil, so of course I said yes. She and my 14 year old son took the news of his death really hard.

I just read something earlier this morning that pissed me off, a Guardian article that dared call MJ "the Obama of pop music". This revisionism they're doing with MJ in almost overlooking them is silly. Hell even the BET Awards probably didn't give them the send-off they're trying to give MJ (though they did try with James but it just seemed "there"). And I don't wanna hear "but Michael transcend..." I think MJ himself will be pissed of all the extra attention he's giving now when James and Ray never got that official send-off. You saw how in 2004 Reagan was more talked about on the news than Ray and James got a few media tributes. So the hypocritical nature of the MJ tributes has me on the edge.

Well, even as we speak, Farrah has gotten very little coverage since the news broke about Michael. I, myself, am guilty of kinda putting her on backburner because I absolutely loved that woman back in the 70s and was planning on going home the evening of her death and watching some of my DVDs of "Charlie's Angels" when she was on there. But later that day, the news broke about Michael and I've been glued to the set watching the coverage of his death. I think it's because even though I loved Farrah, I knew she was sick and it was just a matter of time before she eventually died. But with Michael, that was totally out of the blue and unexpected. I want to watch Charlie's Angels but I'm afraid I'll miss something new about Michael's death if I switch from the TV to the DVD player. . . . [Edited 6/28/09 12:01pm] Andy is a four letter word.
