i've added in a couple of omissions from the first list and reordered a little bit. i'm trying to keep in chrono order, but using a bit of artistic licence to make it listenable in the choosen order, thus grouping tracks recorded around the same time, but not necessarily listesd in strict recording studio date time, as a final official albums tracklist wouldn't be created that way. i've started with off the wall in the original config, as we start off with a well known selection of tracks to get you in the mood, and from then i've added the outtakes from off the wall, and moving into some from thriller, then the thriller album followed by collabs and other thriller outtakes (this is where i need some help/suggestions as to which thriller outtakes should go before thriller and which should go after thriller in the playlist), and then a few Bad outtakes, followed by Bad, and then Bad/Moonwalker/etc outtakes etc and then outtakes from Dangerous (again some help/suggestions about putting this in a chrono type order that will flow from thriller to bad to dangerous, would be great), then dangerous ends and history starts right after, i've omitted the eddie murphy tracks as they are crap and don't fit in with the rest of the tracks below, and don't have enough MJ vox. likewise the simpsons and wiz stuff is omitted as it doesn't fit in with the rest, so after history is one outtake and the 3T tracks, and then blood on the dancefloors "new" tracks, from then on i need help to put the invincible and post invincible stuff in a good order, so which tracks should go before invincible, and which should go after it. i've stuck the later outtakes on the end with the collab stuff right at the end, which does unfortunately leave the tracklisting at a low point, but if i can get it in chrono order i can then work some magic to try and sort that out
so what i need to know is if anything missing that should be included, that has a lead MJ vocal, so i've not included songs he wrote for other people or kenny rogers etc stuff, as it doesn't fit in, and also if any of the tracks are way out of sequence chronologically. any comments as to why something should be included or changed in order are appreciated, likewise any suggestions as to how to make smaller changes to make things flow a bit better. personally i've tried to make it so it's official album, then outtakes from that album followed by outtakes from the next album, so you have a big load of rare/unreleased stuff to go through, then the next album, then tracks that fill the gap from that album to the next, etc. i'm also a sucker for sticking all the slow/ballad type songs together and all the faster stuff together, rather than strict chrono, so the songs sound like the belong together and flow well. when i make up these playlists i have to play through them a few times, and when i change tracks i need to relisten again to see how it changes the vibe, so by the end of it i'm sick of listening to the songs. i've done this for a few artists. anyways the list below is 10 hours and 18 minutes long, so would fill eight 80 min cds approximately, but not necesarily fit nicely on discs, but i'm just playing this from the HD for now. after the final playlist is selected i'll see how it might fit on cds for the old fashioned folks oh, i've stuck to either original album version or extended version, rather than alternate versions. once i have the right songs in the right order i can then do a second playlist with alternate versions throughout. the right choice of song order is the main part here 1.
