(March 8) - Oprah Winfrey strongly cautioned Rihanna from hastily reconciling with her accused attacker Chris Brown, saying during her show on Friday that "love doesn't hurt" and charging that "if a man hits you once, he will hit you again." "You need somebody to tell you the truth in this moment. And the truth is guys, both Chris Brown and Rihanna, if I were your friend, I would call you up and I would say 'Give it some time, get yourself some counseling, take care of yourself, heal yourself first'," she said during the live broadcast. "And also, 'Love doesn't hurt'. I've been saying this to women for years - love doesn't hurt. And if a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again. I don't care what his plea is, he will hit you again.'" Brown briefly appeared in court Thursday, hours after he was charged with two felonies stemming from what a police detective describes as a brutal argument between the singer and Rihanna in a car in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood last month. He did not enter a plea, and his arraignment was postponed until April 6. Until then, the 19-year-old R&B singer remains free on $50,000 bail. A search warrant affidavit filed by a Los Angeles police detective described a brutal fight in which Brown allegedly punched, bit and choked Rihanna until she nearly lost consciousness. Well, if they stay together after his plea deal--which I seriously doubt, I think he'll bail--then hell yes I hope they get counseling at the very least.
I will say that I am backing away from the idea that this relationship, regardless of how long it lasts, will doom their careers, especially hers. I was at Target today and she's on every mag cover, even People (her cover a couple weeks ago must have sold well). And her CD hasn't left the top 40 all this time, even after the revelation that she went back to Brown. Some say she had a tough girl image that won't work now. But, I'm not so sure. She had "Take A Bow", but also "Rehab" (keeps going back to a toxic relationship), "S.O.S" (obsessive), "Umbrella" (loyal, come what may), Disturbia (crazy)...She has more than one image going it seems. She won't be anybody's Cover Girl if she stays with him, but maybe she doesn't need to be. "Be glad for what you had baby, what you've got..."

Texter REVEALED!
Texter Revealed The woman whose 3 page text message initiated the end of an era has been identified! On the night of the Chris Brown/Rihanna incident, Beat Her Down received a booty call from none other than his manager, Tina Davis. Rumor has it that Davis, 40, and Brown, 19, had a sordid encounter back when Beat Her Down was a wee abuser at the tender age of 16. They both deny it. The detective's affidavit, however, refers to the communication "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with." The message infuriated Rihanna, who struck out at Chris. Chris then answered back. Violence is never the answer! And that goes for both of them! -perezhilton Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Akon says he'd work with Chris Brown
March 10, 2009, 11:11 AM EST WASHINGTON (AP) -- Akon — who has gone through legal woes and bad publicity himself — says he'd be willing to work with pop's latest problem child, Chris Brown. "Oh, absolutely!" Akon said in a phone interview Monday. "I wouldn't take anybody's personal issues or problems— I won't hold them accountable for that when it comes to work. I think it's two separate things." The 19-year-old R&B singer was charged with two felonies last week in connection with an alleged attack on his girlfriend, pop star Rihanna, 21. Brown is accused of beating her in the early morning hours of Feb. 8, the day of the Grammy Awards: Both were due to perform but bowed out. He was arrested that night. Since then, a photo has surfaced that purportedly shows a badly beaten Rihanna, and an affidavit released last week offered brutal details of the alleged assault. Related: Protective order issued against Chris Brown Brown has seen endorsements evaporate and some stations have stopped playing the music of the platinum star. But Akon said it's not fair to "to hold his whole career at bay because of it. He's gonna learn and he's gonna move forward and just hopefully he won't treat the next woman the same way." Akon has been through legal troubles and public relations disasters of his own. He agreed last December to perform community service and pay a fine for throwing a teen off a stage in 2007 after someone in a crowd apparently threw something at him. He also apologized for simulating sex with a teen at a Trinidadian concert; he said he did not know the girl was so young. Akon said making music helped him get through those difficult times, and that may be the case for Brown: "If you are going through personal issues to me, those are the best times to make records." Akon also said the media needed to stop focusing its attention on Brown and Rihanna and let the couple work through their issues, stressing that both are very young stars. "At the end of the day, what Rihanna and Chris went through is nothing different than what couples go through every day," he said. "They have problems, they go through issues, and some of them, of course, expand to domestic violence, which I don't in any way condone. But, you know, sometimes you really can't control it and some people just need to seek help and figure out ways to deal with their emotions and how they deal with issues and certain things." Mystery Woman in Brown/Rihanna Case Revealed
Posted Mar 10th 2009 2:00PM by TMZ Staff TMZ knows who triggered the fight that left Rihanna battered and bruised and Chris Brown an accused felon -- it's Brown's manager. Sources tell us the woman who left the three-page text message on Brown's cell phone is Tina Davis. Davis -- who turns 40 this month -- was rumored to have had a relationship with Brown when he was 16. Brown and Davis have denied it. Law enforcement tells us the text message to Brown talked about hooking up later -- and it totally pissed off Rihanna. She slapped and hit him and he then brutally fired back. The detective's affidavit refers to the text message as being "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with." Davis could not be reached for comment. http://www.tmz.com/2009/0...t-message/ MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent
