The fact that they pushed them together for appearances sake when he was done pisses me off. If they had any wind of him being abusive than that's even worse.

Don’t embarrass yourself by defending this creep. Ri Ri did not put those bruises on her face herself. Only two people can fit in a two-seat vehicle. He did it and no you don’t get to beat the crap out of a woman because you do not like something she said or did.

^^Yeah, I was confused about her lawyer saying she'd testify too. Testify for the prosecution or defense? Not sure what that meant....How do you know for sure they have reconciled. I mean, I figured they had to a certain degree, but what confirmed that for you from watching this show?

Only that Larry and two of the guests said that they reconciled. Of course I still believe on Rihanna can say. If it's based on them talking at Diddy's house, well that's hardly a reconciliation. I guess the truth of that will eventually come out.
Yeah, well, it looks like she has a soft spot for him. Either she wantsto help his career, or she thinks he'll love her more by helping him out. Or she really does think he's the one and only for her. Ugh. Too early to tell, but that's how it's looking. Luckily, she already gave statements to the police and then there's those pics..

I am diggin' this "legal eagle" lady Jeanne -I didn't get her name last name. She is boppin' these guys upside the head left and right and doing it with force. Lol Got my heart rate a bit....lol...I better get on my stepper and do something with this energy. This is a good Larry King! Lots to think about!

Ugh....they're playing umbrella...I so don't like hearing her sing "took an oath I'mma stick it out till the end!" BOO!

exactly. i don't understand people defending that kind of behaviour. 'oh you'll jeopardize your career'. are you kidding me with that?!?! i guess a little abuse is ok to sell a few albums. or a bigger beating if you're at Rihanna's level of stardom.

Jeanine Pirro... she used to be the DA in NY.

She may want to help Crhis's career but she might need to think about her own (along with her safety of course). Her going back really obliterates her tough girl image and any strength she may have appeared to have had in general. Not to mention she will look like a fool in many people's eyes especially those who already think that she 'asked for it' or provoked it.

What is up with her cutting off contact with her parents?

It doesn't matter. If she takes the stand and testifies, she'll be cross examined. So it's irrelevant.

Their handlers pushed them together for a few more appearances/weeks. The last of them was the Clive Davis party. Supposedly Chris didn't want to accompany her but was asked to by both sides to keep up their image. I think that's part of what made him so frustrated (not justifying at all) was that he didn't want to be there or there with her. Thus the pics of them looking a little awkward and footage of him walking a mile ahead of her later in the evening. He wanted out of the relationship, she didn't so didn't mind them being encouraged to stick together longer than desired.

that is one of many signs to look for in an abuser. they will try to alienate you from friends and family. that gives them leverage. and takes away any influence from family and friends.

How would leaving an abuser jeopardize her career?

That would be a bad thing?

Is this a Chris Brown defense?

I think that's very scary (providing her parents are sensible). How sad seeing all those former guests who've been victims of this. She might need to remove herself from the celebrity lifestyle with someone who can give her counsel and support without talk about her career, TMZ and sales and such.

HIS career, as in his handlers, managers even family pressuring her. It wouldn't be surprising would it?

Her family situation always had be scratching my head. She was what 17 or 18 when she started out in the biz? And she's away from her homeland and without any family around her? Then her dad sounds kinda strange in his comments. Sounds like she doesn't have the best people around her. That's always been my impression.

It was sad to see Halle, Robin Givens, Pamela Anderson etc all talking about their past abuse. But, it also shows how common it is and the issue is no respecter of beauty or economic status. People can prevail in spite of going through this type of stuff. When I see Halle or Pamela I never think of them as victims of abuse anymore, ya know?

To see "Going to Beat the S$*% Out of You" under "Breaking News" on CNN is trippin' me out. I am glad a lot of time is being devoted to this topic tonight, though! Lots of abuse experts and whatnot to provide perspective.

yeah. but the thing is that the victim doesn't see that they are being manipulated. usually because they are in "love". it's a mind fuck. it's about putting on the charm for the family, friends, and public then building the victim's trust then using it against the very people who are wanting to protect her. it's sick. i pray she can get out of it. what's scary is the victim looking back on it after all the smoke clears and coming to the realization that that was what the abuser was doing.

This is why I'm not too hard on the victim. It's easy for some to say they'd leave if they were in that situation but people who find themselves in such circumstances are of a certain mindset to begin with...that's why they're in it! Their thinking or emotional make up for lack of a better description is completely different and if what the psychotherapist said via telephone is true, there is a chemical difference as well.

Staying with or attracting abusive relationships stems from some place inside just like being abusive stems from some place inside.
