Lord....

for a woman who takes such a great picture and is so image conscious.... and considering all of the fantastic, iconic images of her over the decades.... why does she continue to have such tacky album art? Who's That Girl, You Can Dance, I'm Breathless, Confessions (to an extent), Hard Candy....

every other photo from this era looks 10 times better than the album cover session. confuse

It was definitely 1991, and could be a ToD premiere, but they had several i think. Im not 100% where she is here - although sadly i do think she went home with Vanilla Ice and not KD or Wendy.

Dayumn they kept that quiet. This is too much. I cant take it in. why in the fuck didnt they go all out to get Prince on this record too? This track, Beat Goes On, Dance 2 Night are crying out for his input. Oh it could have been like one big happy 1980's reunion.Pharrell has obviously studied P's career to the point of plagiarism at times, and M has always given big love to P in interviews - is this some kind of personal homage from the two of them? Very cool if that is indeed the intention.Just something about this record and prince seems to connect for me.

I'm listening to "Beat Goes On" right now...it's such a fun, happy song.Pharrell,Madonna and Kanye sound like they're having alot of fun with it.

" Get down....Beep Beep, Gotta Get Up Outta Your Seats"

I think it should be the 4th single. Give it 2 Me and Hearbeat being 2nd & 3rd.

It's kinda bittersweet that she's leaving Warners after delivering her most commercial album in years. There's at least five strong singles on this album...

"4 Minutes"
"Give It To Me"
"Miles Away"
"Heartbeat"
"Beat Goes On"

"Dance2night" is also a strong contender.I hope Warners goes all the way with this album, despite the fact that she's leaving.

hmmm perhaps "Miles Away" in a stripped down or ballad version as a single from the compilation if she doesn't feel like giving them another song for it?

I hope they delay the compilation until 2009.I want them to spend this year focusing solely on Hard Candy',releasing one single after another.I also think Madonna should shoot videos for "Miles Away" and "Heartbeat" right now, before the tour begins in September.Once she gets on the road, she won't have the time to make a proper video (remember what happened with "Jump"? lol).

I don't honestly think this album has the legs to sustain a lengthy promotion. And certainly don't think it's 5 singles deep. She hasn't had one since... um... well, American Life was a case of milking it to get every penny they could back out of its failure, and one of its singles wasn't even really intended for the album.... Ray Of Light eeked its fifth single as an international one... and Erotica.... that's a combination of the two.

Is Like A Prayer really her last album that sustained 5 singles?

But anyway, back to whether THIS album is 5 singles deep... I really don't think it is. It's going to be hot for 5 minutes and by the time the 3rd single comes out, it's going to be forgotten by the public, radio, and even most of the fans. WB and Madonna would be better off moving on to the compilation and tour, because that's where the serious money and exposure is going to be.

Yeah,I know that most albums don't "last" very long these days (remember in the 80s? Things were so much different then). But with a tour beginning in late fall and lasting into 2009,I'd like to see multiple singles from this album, even if the album is no longer on the charts by then (and we know it won't be).

'American Life' was a flop in America, but Warners still stayed committed to it,releasing not only five singles from it,but also a remix album.I'd like to see the same level of commitment to 'Hard Candy',especially since it's a much more accessible and commercial effort than 'American Life'.Madonna gets her biggest sales outside America,so if nothing else, future singles should do well everywhere else.

"committed" is one way of looking at Warner Bros. treatment of AL's promotion. another way of looking at it is "desperate to make a return on their investment." lol

you need only look at the shedule of singles from Bedtime Stories and Music to know that this album is not going to get 5 singles. the minute someone thought up the ideas of Something To Remember and GHV2 all futher single releases were dropped and they shifted on milkin the catalog. this time, the compilation is pre-ordained before the album even got on the release schedule. biggrin

Madonna should just call her new tour "The M-Dolla WORLD TOUR" lol in addition to her $25 million payday for two shows in Dubai and the $10 million for some private concert she's doing, there's also this....

They should have just released three singles from that album (the title track,"Hollywood" and "Nobody Knows Me").There weren't alot of radio-friendly songs on that album.I like the album, though.

I can't stop playing "Miles Away"!!! music I've had it on 'repeat' for the past few hours lol This is already one of my favorite Madonna songs.Who else is loving this song?

"MILES AWAY"
(written by Madonna,Timbaland,Nate "Danja" Hills and Justin Timberlake)

I just woke up from a fuzzy dream
You never would believe the things that I have seen
I looked to the mirror and I saw your face
You looked right through me,you were miles away

All my dreams they fade away
I'll never be the same
If you could see me the way you see yourself
I can't pretend to be someone else

(chorus)
You always love me more, miles away
I hear it in your voice,we're miles away
You're not afraid to tell me,miles away
I guess we're at our best when we're miles away

So far away,so far away
So far away,so far away
So far away,so far away
So far away,so far away

When no one's around then I have you here
I begin to see the picture,it becomes so clear
You always have the biggest heart
when we're six thousand miles apart

Too much of no sound
uncomfortable silence can be so loud
Those three words are never enough
when it's long distance love

(chorus)
You always love me more, miles away
I hear it in your voice,we're miles away
You're not afraid to tell me,miles away
I guess we're at our best when we're miles away

So far away,so far away
So far away,so far away
So far away,so far away
So far away,so far away

(bridge)
I'm alright,don't be sorry but it's true
When I'm gone,you'll realize
That I'm the best thing to happen to you

(chorus)
You always loves me more, miles away
I hear it in your voice,we're miles away
You're not afraid to tell me,miles away
I guess we're at our best when we're miles away

You always love me more, miles away
I hear it in your voice,we're miles away
You're not afraid to tell me,miles away
I guess we're at our best when we're miles away

So far away,so far away (repeat)

What songs from 'Hard Candy' should be played on tour?

Should the tour even be based around the new album?

What song should be the opener? "Candy Shop"? "Give It To Me"??

Let's see some dream setlists! lol
