My life hasn't been the same since James Brown tore up the stage
at the Joe Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas in August, 1968.

Now it will once again never be the same.

sad sad sad

I'm might be the youngest person on this web page and I would rather listen to james than akon or any other shit like that. He would of said Move ON.Infact when I was in third grade i would bring one of his cds in and the teacher would put it on for backround music. And I was the only person that enjoyed it.

he was a musician, though, and not a saviour. there is no debt owed, just respect for the enjoyment his life, as allowed by God, provided to us.

With all respect, he may not have been a saviour to some(although IMO he was), but his actions surely were. Ask anyone who had the chance to be in America and live in a major city after 4/4/68. James Brown saved lives, trust me on this. The National guard didn't stand a chance and the "powers that be" knew this. So who did they call to quell some of problems that were going on?.....yep, JB!!

James did things no book, or teachings could ever do. This man had the type of power you couldn't imagine, and he knew this. All he wanted was his people to get off of their knees, and live their lives. I lost a family member Saturday as well, and he was into JB in a big way. So I know that the concert in Heaven will be on point this weekend. RIP "Soul Brother #1.

I read that in his book in 2005 called "James Brown: A Memoir of a Life of Soul". It was an interesting read and I recommend it to any James Brown fan. I'll surely be playing his music on my myspace page all week.

Here's a snippet of Soul train dancers in dancing to "Make it Funky" by JB. (a 1971 clip)

When I heard people talking about this today I figured they had to be kidding. Tragic beyond belief for his fans but mostly for those who knew him. Seemed like a genuinely cool person, despite his flaws. I love when he was on Howard Stern. He had that great laugh that filled the room. It was all one noise..."Haaaaa....". Will be sorely missed. Hopefully while on vacation, Howard will give it up the the hardest working man in show business. He cited him as a hero because Howard grew up in a black community and having James Brown albums helped make him hip!

The more I read about this and the more I think about JB's death, the more shocked I am by it. I thought about it all day while I was at my Mom's house and I just can't imagine there not being James Brown around to funk up this earth anymore. It's just too bizarre to me. Damn.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Wow, James Brown has died. Like a friend said to me today
"You just expect him to always be around, he's James Brown".

There was no one like you Mr. Brown. You did so much for so many people.
Your music has been an enormous part of my life. Thank you.

James Brown's widow claims she is locked out of home she shared with singer
at 23:06 on December 25, 2006, EST.

BEECH ISLAND, South Carolina (AP) - James Brown's widow said she was denied access to the home she shared with the singer and their 5-year-old son, claiming the gate was padlocked at the request of Brown's lawyer and accountant.

Tomi Rae Brown, who was one of James Brown's backup singers, said Monday she was at a retreat when her 73-year-old husband died shortly after he was hospitalized in Atlanta.

"The last thing he said to me was, 'I love you baby and I'll see you soon,"' she told The Augusta Chronicle.

But when she returned to their home hours after her husband died of heart failure, security guards told her James Brown's lawyer, Buddy Dallas, and accountant, David Cannon, said she was not allowed inside, she said.

She said she does not own the deed to the home, but said she had a legal right to live there.

"This is my home," she told a reporter for the newspaper outside the gate of the house. "I don't have any money. I don't have anywhere to go."

Cannon would not comment on the situation, the newspaper said. Phone messages left for Dallas were not immediately returned to The Associated Press.

The couple has had a tumultuous relationship since they married in December 2001.

James Brown pleaded guilty in 2004 to a domestic violence charge stemming from an argument with his wife and was let off with a US $1,087 fine.

He was accused of pushing her to the floor and threatening to kill her at the couple's home about 113 kilometres southwest of Columbia
