No you don't..... is Rhythm Nation shitty? Please..... Rhythm Nation does not sample an entire song. The songs sound nothing like the originals. You want an example of a POOR sample, and one very comparable to the stuff on this record, head on over to the ALL FOR YOU album

When I first heard 'Get Together', I immediately thought of 'Falling' from Kylie's 'Kylie Minogue' album.
They sound great when played one after the other, by the way. Strange that Kylie's (PSB produced) song is eleven years older but sounds just as fresh.

Get Together sounds to me like she was trying to do Holiday, Pt. 2. Thankfully, I LOVE Holiday! And Falling is a great track! Very sleek and polished; I can see the comparisons. umm i'm not certain the thread statement is true.
what we have is two artists who are targeting the same core audience, therefore making similar sounding albums. who does it better? i can't really say. Both are strong women who are geniuses in the postmodern world. Confessions is more of New Madonna trying to rip off Old Madonna. In away repeating and reinventing her first album. Kylie's post PWL work is Kylie trying to find herself. KM94 was a great start and IP or KM98 was amazing and taught her lots of lessons. LY is great but pretty all over the board, and Fever is a gem. BL is at best an album of great singles with lots of filler. You could almost tell that Kylie's heart wasn't in it in my opinion. She probably wanted some time off, but the record label pushed for more. I'm hoping her next one will be great. The are both great and i love them both. i do Madonna is a bit better because she is more willing to take a stand. but for mindless pop Kylie is on top too. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

I'd put Fever as the best Kylie album, and better than anything Madonna has done since Ray of Light. I'd rank Madonna and Kylie's albums collectively this way: 1. Like a Prayer 2. Ray of Light 3. Fever 4. Madonna 5. Body Language 6. Impossible Princess 7. Confessions on a Dancefloor 8. American Life 9. Erotica 10. Light Years 11. Rhythm of Love 12. Bedtime Stories 13. True Blue 14. Kylie Minogue 15. Like a Virgin 16. Music 17. I'm Breathless 18. Evita 19. Enjoy Yourself 20. Kylie 21. Let's Get to It Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! NO! That shit is so distracting, since I'm constantly reminded of how groundbreaking IFL was and how BORING the track is! OK, she might not be inventing the wheel like the pioneers of rap (cue digital underground) did with samples but at least there is more going on than the lazy rap artists/mariah's and other bimbos of the music world who literally sing over the original track with nothing else added! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Ummmm, I have to be honest: Mariah does way more with her samples than just sing over the damn song With IFL, the bassline IS the song, no ifs and or buts about it.

[Edited 4/26/06 15:50pm] Yes, FANTASY, but anything else? Not really. And I am not even a Mariah fan or defender, but she has used samples nicely in the past (ex. Dreamlover, The Roof). I will say Madonna's samples on this record are better than RAP since in rap the producer is too lazy to even add a backbeat [Edited 4/26/06 15:52pm]

When I first started becoming aware of Kylie, my first reaction was that I could not believe that locomotion chick was still making music and I basically wrote her off. Then some friends started sending me some of her music and I thought....ok
To me, Kylie's music isn't always consistent. If you listen to her stuff, you get different elements that are exactly along the lines of Madonna's dancefloor. I just think she has never had an album of solid songs that can compare. More like that kind of musical brilliance is sprinkled throughout her albums. I am not wild about a lot of Kylie's stuff but there is a good portion of her music that I go absolutely nuts over Kylie should be proud that Madonna chose to make a Kylie album Madonna's Caught Up sound too much like Kylie's I Believe In You. And BOTH of those songs sound alot like Donna Summers' I Feel Love. So before we start giving Kylie or Madonna too much credit, let us given a shout-out to the original Queen Of Disco & Electronic Dance..... AMEN!!!!! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

That would be Fever and Body Language. And her non-dance extravaganzas are a hell of a lot better than Confessions, which is the first Madonna record I did not purchase. A lot of Madonna fans on the org tend to dislike Kylie, but some (like myself and ehuffsd and MikeMatronik) represent. I'm not afraid to say that Fever and Body Language trump COAD, and that Goldfrapp's Supernature trumps them all. [Edited 4/26/06 14:09pm] I agree.I still listen to "Body Language" once a week.If anything,Madonna is chasing Kylie.Madonna will do anything so stay relevant. larry luvlife
