Vanilla Ice - he was never "rated" was he? How can he be overrated? He was always a laughing stock.

And the Joss Stone thing - damn, that girl has a brilliant voice. So do loads of other people, but it's more a beauty thing, not about colour. There are shit loads of black and white women who have good voices, but have basically made it ahead of others with good/better voices, because they're pretty. Simple as that.

Music has no colour:
- Irish celtic music finds his origin in India. Emigrants from India originally brought this music, via eastern europe, to the Irish Island.
- Black Techno is influenced a lot by europeans bands as Kraftwerk and Neu
- Black rappers sometimes use samples of classical european composers
- Indeed, Prince did use influences from The Beatles, Stravinsky, Brecht and Weill etc during his 1985 - 1987 period.....so what?

I could go on forever with examples like this, but, face it and see it as a positive aspect, musical styles have (black, white, african, eastern whatever) have been mixed trough the ages, and this will allways be the case.... whether its a singer with a dark skin singing music that origins from Europe, or a guy with a yellow skin singing Heavy Metal....

I mean as long as its good music, isnt that what its all about?

That right. She came in through the "black door" at a time when it was not "fahionable" and "easy" like it is today. She also played concerts to thousands of blacks where she was one of the few white people in the entire building. She was WAY ahead of her time and deserves much respect.
